I now tried the kernel parameters. 'button.lid_init_state' works around the bug
when set to 'open' or 'ignore'. The system boots without going to sleep. When I
set it to 'method', the system doesn't boot at all.

I only have 4.10.0-20 and 4.8.0-20. I tried them both. It’s the same.
I also tried booting in upstart mode (since I was in the Grub prompt).
The boot process works better, the system doesn’t go to sleep during
boot. However, the GUI doesn’t load and I only have a console, which I

Same problem on a HP 250 G3: /var/log/uvcdynctrl-udev.log grew to 9,8G
and filled the / partition completely. The graphical desktop environment
wouldn’t start any more.
Workaround: I deleted /var/log/uvcdynctrl-udev.log and removed the

sane-devel mailinglist. (Maybe they could help you too. They're great!)
I found out the issue is the following: The SX 410 is supported from
sane-backends 1.21 onwards. Lucid ships with 1.20. You have to upgrade
to 1.21
If you added the PPA and the upgraded the packages instead of installing
new ones, you shouldn't get more than one SANE version I think.
Quite frankly, I have to admit that I'm far from being an expert in SANE
related issues so perhaps you should ask for help on their maling list
I also have got a Epson Stylus SX410 and I'm affected by this bug, too.
I'm trying to provide as much information as I can so that a developer
can get this fixed.
According to the list on their website, the Sytlus SX410 is fully
supported by sane.

Nevertheless, I managed to reproduce a similar one every time I tried
it.

1. Open Me TV and wait for the channel to lock

If this is really a Liferea bug, why does it only appear after updating
to Intrepid? And why do I have similar problems with Gajim (I also never
close befor shutting down)?
