[Bug 823899] Re: When compiz enabled, I can not dock any LibreOffice Window.
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected oneiric patch ubuntu ** Description changed: Hi, Since OpenOffice in Ubuntu 10.04, when compiz is enable does not possivel dock any Windows tools in Libre/OpenOffice. Per example, Load LibreOffice press F11 to show Window Format and Style. Now try to dock this Window in right or left side in LibreOffice userspace. Sorry, any Window is dockable when compiz is Enabled. In prior versions of Ubuntu, I could disable compiz temporaly only to dock my LibreOffice Windows and re-enabled compiz after that. But in Ubuntu 11.04, compiz can not disable in GNOME enviroment, only in security mode. So, I looking for this bug in lauchpad, for my surprise I did not find anyone then post this. I dont know if this bug is about Compiz or about LibreOffice, then I set I dont know. + --- + .tmp.unity.support.test.0: + + ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 + Architecture: amd64 + CompizPlugins: [core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, move, mousepoll, resize, vpswitch, wall, snap, imgpng, place, regex, grid, animation, gnomecompat, workarounds, fade, expo, ezoom, unitymtgrabhandles, session, scale, unityshell] + CompositorRunning: None + DistUpgraded: Fresh install + DistroCodename: oneiric + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 + DistroVariant: ubuntu + DkmsStatus: + vboxhost, 4.1.6, 3.0.0-13-generic, x86_64: installed + virtualbox-guest, 4.1.2, 3.0.0-13-generic, x86_64: installed + GraphicsCard: + Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0116] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) +Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:04b6] + nVidia Corporation Device [10de:0df5] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) +Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:04b6] + InstallationMedia: Hamacker LiveDVD - Release amd64 + MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 891124] [NEW] applets in Unity or menu activities (gnome-shell) does not run when virtualbox run FullScreen
Public bug reported: This bug affect both gnome-shell and Unity. I have two monitors, rigth side I use with VirtualBox (4.1 or opensource, does not matter) and left-size my Ubuntu 11.10 amd64 updated. To reproduze : 1. Start VirtualBox with guest tools instaled with Windows VM (I try with Windows XP) 2. Put VirtualBox with second monitor (1920x1080) 3. Type Host+F to FullScreen on second monitor 4. Open Windows Explorer 5. Get out with the mouse to a first monitor and try to click in any applet on first monitor, dropdown menu does not show any item (with left or right click), not focused, no menu list, nothing. I try with gnome-shell, and menu Activies does not run too, but gnome-shell-extensions run menu-dropdown normally. 6. Come back to your VM, type Host+F to exit from FullScreen and try to show dropdown menu in applets or gnome-shell activities, they come back. This bug affect any applet on top bar that need dropdown menu with right-click or left-click. If you have any applications loaded on first monitor, like firefox, when VirtualBox in Fullscreen mode, you can go to Firefox menu fist, than you can go your applets and see thats run now. So, this bug only appear if you exit (with your mouse moviment) from VirtualBox (on fullscren mode) and go to directy to applets (unity) or activities (gnome-shell). [Bug 870040] [NEW] HDMI does not run on hybrid card
Public bug reported: My notebook DELL XPS L502X have a HDMI and OpenDisplay ports. So, HDMI port does not display anything. I think that the same bug as : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/844307 To use a second display I buyed OpenDisplay-HDMI converter : http://www.centralcabos.com.br/Default.asp?Menu=ProdutoDetalhesProdutoID=2170164 But I can use only Intel video card, module vgaswitchroo does not exists to change my primary display driver. Using ironhide program : https://launchpad.net/~mj-casalogic/+archive/ironhide I can run accelered applications, but I prefer NVIDIA as primary display. I test on both system 11.04 (with kernel 2.6 and 3.x) and 11.10 with the same results. Final Considerations : In my test all items are marked as lock to the panel. But it's not fine, the same problem. I think that gnome-panel only retain correct order in expand and not expand panel as first time, but if you change one to another then all items are relocated in different positions. To turn around this bug you need to rearrange items again and not change expanded-not expanded (vice-versa).
