Re: [Bug 63967] Re: machine does not wake up after suspend

2012-10-28 Thread velikson
Well, I do not know in what world you live. Most computers I tried DO NOT
WAKE UP AFTER SUSPEND on Ubuntu, any version. It is so frequent that few
people even try to install Ubuntu on a laptop - simply because on a desktop
it is easier to live with that, you can just systematically turn it off.
Most of us user have simply given up. This is real world.

My Asus seems to work fine, with all xubuntu versions since 8.04. Of
course, maybe it just isn't new enough to have issues with suspend. I
have been unable to reproduce this issue, myself. I have one laptop and
two desktops that seem to be able to wake from suspend.

   Won't Fix
Status in “linux-source-2.6.19” package in Ubuntu:

   I just upgraded to Edgy.

   I have kernel linux-image-2.6.17-10-386

The machine is a ThinkPad Z60t.

I did suspend the machine Fn-F4. It didn't wake up. The sleep light
   stayed, nothing reacted.

I was running linux-image-2.6.15-19-386 without glitch.

   Behaviour is different from
   https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/linux-
source-2.6.15/+bug/49078 that I reported a few month back

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-
image-2.6'; however, that package was not published in Baltix.

[Bug 557784] Re: Eject does not open empty cd tray while virtualbox is running

2010-04-30 Thread velikson
I have exactly the same problem except that it is worse: the eject command
does not open the tray either, and it cannot be unmounted. No solution found
except turning off VirtualBox which is quite annnoying.
I would be very thankful to any person who thinks up a patch to remedy for this.
I run Ubuntu 9.04 and VirtualBox 3.1.6.
If this persists, I'll have to switch back to VMWare.
