@peterzay: You don't need to be a Canonical engineer to file a bug against an unknown package. FYI, you can enter in a terminal ubuntu-bug -w, press Enter, and then click in the window that belongs to the software you want to file the bug against. This is not a bug in Launchpad, as you shouldn't

I'm trying to figure out what you're asking. Are you saying that its incorrectly assigning the bug to gedit, or that it retains the text entry in the text box on the page? Or are you saying that when you set it to I don't know it's maintaining that the bug is a gedit bug? -- You received this

*followup to #2* What your screenshot shows is for when you're filing this bug here against Launchpad, and you choose I don't know, its keeping the entry in the text box. It is correctly disassigning the package apparently, since the screenie is for this bug. However, for the record, this is

peterzay: please point us to a bug where this actually happened. You might consider Bug #1025046 but there is nothing wrong with Launchpad, but Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot (crichton) misfires. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to

Do you have your web browser configured to remember form input? I believe it is the default for browsers to do this now, and so the browser itself would be remembering this, not Launchpad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to

How could this be a browser issue? I get a launchpad screen with blank text boxes to populate. I click on I DON'T KNOW for package and the web page incorrectly shows gedit when I submit the report. That manual click action on I DON'T KNOW is not being captured by the launchpad web app.

Bug #1025046 and Bug #964328 was miscategorized by Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot (crichton) because of the somewhat convoluted method to file bugs mentioned above. The owner of the bot should be contacted if this is collateral damage or if the bot can be improved. Future bugs should be filed the

Could you please take the initiative to report this issue to the proper owner for resolution. This bug has caused confusion on several occasions in the past. As for bug reporting, would you prefer not reporting an issue just because the package is unknown??? Remember, end users are not
