I get this bug on two stable 8.10 installations which use the restricted
nVidia driver. They're both fine if you let them boot up in their
default resolution, the problem only occurs when I specify a "vga="
parameter for the kernel (0x305 and 0x307). It looks very much like
palette corruption, sinc

Hello again!
I red a lot of these comments and I have the same problem. I would say, that it
isnt a problem of usplash - or splashy - its only the problem of the restricted
driver. I added my infos from lspci to one of my last comments - so I wont do
that again.

Thanks for your answer. I believe that the only missing thing that might
help developers would be to have the exact name and ID of your graphic
card and details of your current configuration, so if you can provide

I know how xorg works. When I first installed ubuntu, X didn't start

looks in the picture.

Johan Brannlund : When you installed ubuntu the first time, the

Johan Brannlund : Can you say what happens if your uninstall restricted

This is with the restricted driver - I don't think the nv driver works

Some people already confirmed this in the past so I set status to

framebuffer drivers, so this is definitively a bug.
