Title:
The apps
So you have both Ubuntu and Ubuntu Studio desktops installed. As this
bug report has been raised only against the Ubuntu project I'll add
tasks for vlc and thunar. Hopefully someone else will take a look and
decide how to proceed. The bug report may need to be reassigned to yet
another package.

1. I installed the Ubuntu Stuidio from Synaptic, and I using this mode,
so I think this installed vlc too.
2. (Thunar is more usable than Nautilus. But it is a Thunar bug. Thunar
stops occasionally when multiple tabs are open. It was like 19.10.) So
in Thunar, double-click or select and enter.
Gyula, further to what Chris asked of you please answer the following:
1) Did you install vlc from the repositories, as a snap or download it from
somewhere else?
2) What are you "double clicking" on? A file in nautilus or a vlc icon in the
dock?
