The Ubuntu Intrepid Alpha6 image for Kubuntu (with KDE4.1) came up fine
in LiveCD mode.
I then installed, and rebooted. KDE came up fine for me then too. I'm
going to mark Fix Released. Please reopen this bug if you're still
having problems with the Intrepid images.

For me X crashes shortly after login (10s?) with a similar stack trace.
Also see bug 211689, which has been recharacterized as an nVidia driver

where does the crash occur exactly? Specifically does it happen before
or after the login screen?
If possible, please post your ~/.Xsessionerrors log to see if we can
find where the crash is happening so that we can forward your bug to the
proper team.

I've attached the xsession-errors.
The KDE desktop starts up, I see the desktop and immediately there's a
crash before I can click on anything.
I also installed from the live CD (again in KVM). The installed one also
exhibits the same behaviour. The login screen is pretty stable. I can
