[Bug 415186] Re: Cannot open load file: encoded-kb

era, Thanks a lot. Reinstalled, via 'sudo aptitude reinstall', the emacs22-common package, and Emacs it is working A Ok once again. I sincerely don't have a clue as to why or how the '/usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/' directory vanished from my system. I keep tabs on all installed

Closing as Invalid for emacs22, as this is unlikely to be caused in anything within Emacs itself. If you can figure out what caused the problem, obviously, feel free to change the status back to New. Thanks for the update! ** Changed in: emacs22 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid --

The problematic package appears to be emacs22-common. Perhaps reinstalling that could help you get your system back on track. However, if there is a bug which caused its files to be lost, that bug should be found and fixed. -- Cannot open load file: encoded-kb

The file /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/encoded-kb.elc should be part of the emacs22-common package. For a start, does it exist, and if so, does it have the correct md5sum? e...@jaunty:~$ locate encoded-kb /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/encoded-kb.elc e...@jaunty:~$ dpkg -S

era, No, I don't have a ´encoded-kb.elc´ on my box. go figure... There is not even the 'international' directory: ~$ ls /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/ ls: cannot access /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/: No such file or directory I really don't have a clue as to why it
