I have a similar problem on a macbook 3.1 with ubuntu 8.04 beta. if my
headphones are plugged into when the computer is turned on then the
sound comes out the speakers instead of headphones. If i unplug the
headphones and plug them back in everything works as it should.

I have the same problem. I use 7.04 too.
There is no trouble when I use lock screen even though the same screensaver is
displayed in full screen. And yeah, its switching the user and not logging
out.

Updated Hardy at 28th. of March and Nautilus worked fin in browsing the
share of my Windows PC. Then opend a Windows share leads to a password
dialog. After entering my WindowsXP Account i got access to the share.
This Bug could be closed (at least for me).

Confirmed the workaround works for a regular desktop with USB mouse with
synaptics driver _uninstalled_.
xorg (the server, mousedrv?) had /dev/input/mice opened twice!

Can only do double clicks
this was fixed in -9ubuntu1/2 (unless debconf or cdebconf is not
installed), although the priority is still at `critical'. What could we
do further?
- lower the severity
- don't show the question at all, if we can create an update-notifier, and use
this one instead.

The colour schemes can come to inconvenient colour combinations.
However, this has not only to do with default colour schemes like KDE
Blue, but also with the background for the windows that is configured.
IMHO, it would be impossible to prevent bad combinations outright, since
the user can make
gotcha re: --mirror option, I missed that. I have re-installed, but
cannot repeat my initial install error. Sorry.

Killing NetworkManager completely and just using sudo iwconfig wlan0
essid something; sudo dhclient works. Likely not a kernel issue.
This is what I get with NM all the time on my girlfriend's laptop:
