I have the HP Probook 4230s with this fingerprint sensor and am moving
away from Windows 10 to Ubuntu. I have the same issue. No drivers
available. I found 32-bit .rpm drivers from HP site. But it wont work on
Ubuntu 16.04 64bit even after converting it with alien.

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
libsoup follows the GNOME release cycle and we're shipping the rest of
GNOME 3.26.
Also, libsoup is a security sensitive package. (And 2.59.90.1 fixes
CVE-2017-2885).
The goal of this report is to deal with the usability issue. The issue
that when you start Ubuntu Core through KVM, you do not get a working
command on how to connect to the running image.
A simple solution could be to adapt the text on #1 to say something

On non GNOME shell DEs (and even on GNOME shell using the in-app app
menus) like Budgie desktop GNOME control center shows both the app's
menu (its icon) and a separated menubar with yet another menu for the
app with the exact same functions but ugly, could you work with the

Hmm, I don't like reasoning that users should be exposed to an unstable
version very late in one release (with little time to fix problems) to
prepare for the next one.
I'm not opposed to approving this FFe though - can you say how much
you've tested the new psi-plus?
