I was seeing this crash when adding a HP Photosmart C6180 network
driver, it now seems to have been fixed.
Now, when I click OK on the Printer Name/Description/Location and there
is a space in the Printer Name, there is a popup that flashes
momentarily, before disappearing. It works properly if I
I tell a lie, it still crashed, but didn't bring up the crash report
until just now. Given that it doesn't crash when I remove the space, I
guess that's the fix.

I ran updates this morning and my JDBC driver running in under 32 bit
Java can no longer resolve addresses. If I configure my app with an IP
address it works. So it seems to be a DNS issue. 64 bit Java seems to

Isn't ghost a full-disk backup/restore solution? If it is, then UUIDs
should work correctly in such an environment.
No, they don't. Ghost can backup only used space, and then restore that
by creating a new partition and filesystem (which will have a different
UUID), and then writing the files

/lib/partman/init.d35/dump. The following line is frozen:
rm /var/log/partition_dump

Ibid, I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 8.04 from Kubuntu 7.04 the
nvidia drivers simply lock up the screen after log in. I have found no
errors in the log files, but the system is so stuck that the only option
is to hit the reset button on the box. K-7.04 was good stable on the

I just loaded Intrepid, and had some trouble. I used the steps from
blacknred0 as repeated below and it works beautifully...
Steps:
1. Open the terminal
2. type this
sudo apt-get install build-essential
3. copy and paste OR type this (each is a separate line in the terminal)
This was a pretty short-sighted decision. I have a bunch of scripts
that depend on the drive being mounted as /media/disk. If I try the
work-around and label it as disk, it gets mounted on /media/DISK
since fat32 isn't honoring the lower-case disk label. S I'm left
with a bunch of broken
I am using a Dell Inspiron 1420 and I usually turned off the touchpad
while I had a mouse plugged in. Now even going in and telling
PreferencesMouseTouchpad and unselecting the Disable touchpad while
typing I continue to have the touchpad responding to every touch.

apt-get install linux-virtual fails to install leaving apt-get broken.
