The default installation of 13.04 uses "gnome" for it's gtk-2 icons theme.
But "gnome" is missing a lot of the default icons in fbpanel like web-browser,
terminal, desktop, etc.

software, rebooted and it was fine.

Fixed it by running...
apt-get install linux-generic
Also, I had only installed linux-tools-common but linux-tools-generic was also
needed.

i5 CPU, 4gig ram.But my computer was under heavy load already.
