This bug was fixed in the package sddm - 0.14.0-4ubuntu1 --- sddm (0.14.0-4ubuntu1) artful; urgency=medium [ Simon Quigley ] * New upstream release (LP: #1627340). * Merge from Debian. Remaining changes: - Keep the default-display-manager file logic in sddm.postinst. - Keep kubuntu-specific patches: + kubuntu_nvidia-prime.diff + kubuntu_minimum_vt.diff instead of 03_vt7-minimum-vt.diff * Dropped changes: - Remove debian/patches/upstream_autologin_fallback.diff as it's reverse-applicable. * Refresh patches. [ Clive Johnston ] * Re-apply 02_kubuntu_use_breeze.diff * Update VCS to LP and replace maui theme for breeze in recommends. -- Simon Quigley Tue, 02 May 2017 18:55:40 +0100 ** Changed in: sddm (Ubuntu Artful) Status: In Progress => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627340 Title: [request upgrade] SDDM 0.14.0 was released 28th August 2016, contains important bugfixes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sddm/+bug/1627340/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

hi! Anything `critical` holding this off to happen? Debian has recently reached 2nd stage of freeze for Stretch & just 1 more stage is planned 'til FinalFreeze (4th stage). Nothing new there on this subject. Some interesting lecture [1] why it's starting on tty1 anyway since SystemD. The is retrieved from the Arch-Linux-Wiki. ¬ This is not new. Ubuntu has very capable XOrg-people in their team. Ask there for help if you cannot proceed further from own powers. [Bug 1627340] Re: [request upgrade] SDDM 0.14.0 was released 28th August 2016, contains important bugfixes
I've talked to the Debian folks, as that's the preferred route for new software, and they're concerned about a possible move to tty1 for SDDM. They plan on patching that and uploading that in the future. In the meantime, I'll try to get backported fixes for the bugs you mentioned, as that's important to have. If you notice any other bugs I can backport fixes for, please respond here. (either way, we might not be able to get SDDM 0.14 in previous releases (Xenial, Yakkety, etc.), so that will be what has to happen) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627340 Title: [request upgrade] SDDM 0.14.0 was released 28th August 2016, contains important bugfixes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sddm/+bug/1627340/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
