The current script uses Xsession.d which doesn't work under wayland, it
looks like fedora added an autostart .desktop to do the job (which they

behaves correctly on Unity indeed, which shows that properly used those
widgets are not issue (hint to other software writers, you can look

of the issues are going to be tricky, like the
unity-local-menus which are integrated in the wm decoration ... what
happens to those when there is no wm decoration?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
different codepath to handle GNOME and other desktops in that regard.

your music to keep playing. If the phone and
desktop modes have different players it becomes trickier to have a
smooth transition and not loose part of the context you had (we need
to make sure that e.g playing continues, the play queue stays the same, etc)

is going to be done by
the teams wrote those applications anyway, I don't think desktop plans
to spend much resources on that. Our side of the work is going to
test/integrate them, making sure they work correctly on the desktop
(same as we do for e.g GNOME apps today)
