If anyone ran in to the same problems with dual monitors in karmic that
I had, ie they didn't work, rolling back to the nvidia-173 driver
(SystemAdministrationHardware devices) fixed it.

Hi, I removed pulse and all the other files I could find labeled pulse. But
every time I reboot, the pulse directory is created. How can I stop this from

windows computer, I don't see the linux computer at all. Has anyone else run
into this? If so, how did you solve the problem? I did use smbpasswd to set a

problema. Hoje testando as dicas do Fernando, eu tive de reiniciar
varias vezes a maquina e, acho que descobri uma coisa: Se eu ligar o
note, ativar a placa de wireless, conectar a internet e, depois reinicar
o sistema,
utilize primeiro o live cd...
ve se vc gosta...
no live cd dá pra perceber se a conexão com a internet é feita
automaticamente e a configuração de video e outros periféricos também...

No micro que está o Linux tenho duas placas de rede, uma do Speedy e
outra para a LAN.
No micro do WinXP só tenho a placa de rede LAN e utilizo a net através

O pidgin pode pegar pelo sistema ou ter o proxy configurado manualmente,
inclusive pode-se configurar o proxy no sistema e dizer ao pidgin para não usar
proxy e isso é útil para mim. Já no empathy, o proxy é pego do sistema e ponto
final, eu que preciso que mensageiros não passem pelo proxy
