My introduction : I met Parthan and Anjaan at BarCamp5 Bangalore and
that's partly the reason i am part of this list now, I am a final year
Telecom engineering student who has been enjoying Ubuntu as a user for
almost a year now.. and totally in love with it! I also work part time
aswin! awesome!! welcome!!! what is your idea of a goal, especially if

1) sudo and other programs aren't happy with the generated hostname as
it's not listed in /etc/hosts; proposed fix: have a first boot setup

changed. Without this, the system creates /dev/dri/card0 with
crw-rw root root permissions, and the gui fails to display (it still
loads, just nothing appears on the screen). Remote loging in and

The default user should be in the video group. If that's not the case,
we probably want to fix that.
On the other hand, in gutsy the device node creation is handled by udev.
Why isn't that working here?

I don't think there is anything other than Publisher that reads/writes
Publisher is the most awful piece of software... the default formats for
saving ensure that even folks with Publisher can often not open documents
produced with later versions and, unlike with Powerpoint etc., there isn't
even a Publisher Viewer available for the unfortunate Windows users who

O que acontece é que, quando a rede está configurada no MANUAL, o ícone que
aparece é o de 2 computadores ligados (similar ao WinXp).
Mas este mesmo ícone quando a rede está no modo ROAMING, mostra a

Valeu pela dica, mas o DVD foi uma cópia simples mesmo, o termo backup usei
apenas pra dizer que salvei meus arquivos. Copiei pasta a pasta para o DVD, o
UBUNTU não consegue montar tal volume. Preciso de alguma maneira para ler o

de cdfs, só que cdfs pode ser qualquer tipo de sist. de arquivo para CD/DVD

Наблюдаю странные тормоза (иногда иксы до 100% процессорного времени
занимают) при открытии
примерно 10 и более вкладок в Opera 9.23/9.24 и в Firefox.
ОC Feisty 32 bit, комп iMac 5.1 (Core 2 Duo 2Ghz, 1Gb RAM)
P.S. Видео-ускорение не работает.

хм.. можно попробовать добавить в в файл /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom
в секцию [daemon]

1. ПРоверить PAM систему. Почему она дает отлуп.
2. Проверить последовательность старта служб. Попробовать рестартовать службу и прицепить принтер .
3. вообще в 6.10 нету AppArmor, а вдруг у вас есть. Может резать.
