These phones don't have drivers of their own, they usually work with generic
drivers. So it's most likely not a kernel level issue. (Did it work with
Ubuntu 7.x ??)
Kingsly is right. Could you also try the following? 'lsusb' will

E essa instalação será em uma máquina que tem o windows, certo? Você irá
querer manter o windows ou irá rodar apenas o ubuntu nela?

1 - Meu HD pifou. Comprei um novo de 250GB da Maxtron e coloquei no meu pc.
2 - tomei a decisão de só usar fonte aberta na minha máquina, escolhi o ubuntu
como sistema operacional.
3 - fui no site, esperei duas horas para baixar o arquivo de 699MB, mas

Qual a configuração do seu PC ?
Só extraiu o iso para o CD, acho que com isto o boot não é executado da
forma correta, a principio deveria ter usado algum software para gravar
CD, existem vários para Linux e Windows.
Discordo com Windows nunca mais, pois irá encontrar várias máquinas com
256MB RAM

do Ubuntu que chegou pra mim diz em System Requirements: To use
