I installed UbuntuStudio on a laptop with a builtin camera
but couldnt find how to record simple video with it.
Is there a simple video recorder built in,
(there SHOULD be)
or do I have to download something from Software Centre,
if so what is recommended?

downloaded cheese but it didnt work on this laptop
(although during install ubstudio used it to take my user picture)
(it does on the ub10.04 desktop).

cheese doesn't include drivers or hardware support. that is likely the
issue you are experiencing, hardware support. enjoy windows 7, and let your
product vendor know that you would like linux support for your device.

i think i mis-read this message.. if the cam worked in 10.04, and not in
12.04, its likely something that *can* be supported in 12.04. i would just

during installation it asked to take a photo with it for my login photo.
Cheese installed OK on my other computer with ubuntu10.04,
