I experience similar problems with i915. Random crashes occur with gpu
hung and batchbuffer errors. This has happened 3-4 times, within three
days, since installing Lucid. I've not been able to reproduce the crash;
attaching logs.

I have been experiencing this issue on 2.6.35-rc3 when a bunch of kernel
debug options are enabled - let me know if you'd like the .config (tuned

Installing new kernel was OK (using sudo dpkg -i *.deb)
Installing new PPA (add-apt-repository), updating with added new Lucid
packages : was OK
When booting with new kernel, it stopped with message:

If you have this bug (blue and red color in video are invert) and you have a
nvidia, you don't have to install or uninstall any software.
Just launch the nvidia X server settings, choose your screen (X screen 0),
Xserver video settings, Reset hardware defaults.
That's worked for me and others.
According to the upstream bug report, two commits to the kernel should
fix this bug. The commits are included in the current Maverick kernel.
Could you verify that this now works in Maverick?

I had this problem with a new Lucid 10.4 install. However, turning off

My Wacom board is model UD-0608-R and uses a COM port on my PC.
The last LinuxWacom driver which worked fine with this tabled was 0.8.7-2, but

Greetings to everyone. I still have the memory leak problem, but only
when compiz is on. I have a ATI Raden HD 3200 in a HP dv5-1022la. If
compiz is off then memory usage is around 300MB, but when compiz is on,
memory usage increments to 900MB.

My symptoms match Barney's exactly: slow mouse, usually happens after
suspend, CPU pegged. Alt-SysRq works to reboot, so it's definitely just
the X server getting stuck. It's not a hard kernel crash.

Was it tested using the changeset I pushed for modeline validation?
Now in my platform, the modelline 1024x768 60Hz test also
added to Xorg.conf, it can still normally working. In the follow-up of
the development process, we will add the modelline into the
xf86-video-driver
