I've managed to run xev from text console, and seem to have confirmed my
theory. There's a stream of ButtonPress and ButtonRelease events, with
rate MotionNotify between them. And surely, I only tried to move a
cursor.
Is there anything further I can check?

in Maverick Beta. I will be installed by default in the Maverick
Release Candidate (RC), and if no major problems are found it will be

Today I got kernel 2.6.35.21.22 with the updates.
X starts, but only in resultion 640x480 and 0 Hz refresh rate.
I cannot choose any other options from the display configuration :-((

created a file /etc/pm/config.d/01reload_mouse with the following
content:

I really think a lot of the blame (at least half?) belongs with the xorg
devs. Fglrx worked great for me on intrepid. It wasn't until they
improved X that the incompatibility issues began. I wouldn't be
surprised if the devs are so excited by the prospect of finally being
able to code
Hm. That patch doesn't apply to a clean 7.9 tree. I think this bug is
caused by the mesa workaround for bug #638808. Could you test mesa
7.9~git20100909-0ubuntu1 and check that it does not appear there?

Hi, I just downloaded a kubuntu 10.04.1 (desktop) live CD, and this
problem with the fonts is not happening again. The resolution is now
detected OK, both the i386 and AMD64 versions.

The patch applies to -0ubuntu2. I can adjust it to apply to whichever
version you want. The problem definitely existed with -0ubuntu1 as well
(and the previous 7.8.2 package).

Great, TV-card and tvtime installed, here too. I use the v4l drivers
instead of the built-in for the TV-card.
Did anyone checked already, if tvtime needs to be running to cause the

I trying to install the restricted ATI graphic card driver in a freshly
