Hi list,
when installing a PC, Linux boot disk shows warning / error message:
"Making IDE driver interruptible for hda...
Warning /proc/ide/hd?/settings interface is obsolete..."
Then, first phase of Win XP installation (file copying) is very, very
slow, takes about 4 hours. Just as if somebody tu
you can prepare your own CD with your own server, path, username and

I tried that, but "make" started looking for kernel source and I didn't
want to spend the time working it out just yet.

I spent a day searching out XP delpoyment methods (and reading the
Microsoft Sysprep stuff with increasing pain) before I came across this
program.
I'm impressed! Very nicely done (especially the automatic download of
URLs for applications). Unfortunately I can't get it to work.
Hi,

Regards
Gerhard

To do the prepare script you need to install cygwin
(http://www.cygwin.com/)
then start a cygwin shell prompt, cd to the appropriate directory that
has the prepare script in it and type ./prepare [ENTER]
There is also a perl version of prepare tool mentioned here
