I couldn't get it working either and I do have it hooked up to my TV,
The process stops abruptly with just the tc@box login.
I've tried the suggestion our German friend offered but my German is
more than a little patchy, he said;

alsa devices.

I have a feeling my linux nobbishness is the thing holding me back.
I've sudo vi bootlocal.sh and used 'o' to insert the line then ':x' to
save it.
I've then sudo filetool.sh b and it still disappears.
I feel I'm so close guys what am I doing wrong?

it says success. I get all the way to Reboot and you will have 1.17a.
