I tried both AAC and SBC - both stuttered badly. I'm listening to the
pCP6.1.0 via the Bluetooth headphones as I type now, and they behave
flawlessly. I will play with another pi running pCP8 later on today if I
have time.

Thanks Paul for the idea - the fix to replace the kernel thing worked
for me (see my post) so I never went to vers=1.0

Try with vers=1.0 that is what worked for me in this particular
case (2.0 and 3.0 did not but I was using 2.0 with pCP7)

If mmap=1 doesn't work then you need to change it to mmap=0.
With the original pCP mmap=1 only worked in some circumstances, so the
default was mmap=0. Then for many years, mmap=1 worked for everything,
so it was

I already had username=guest (from getting it to work with pCP7).
So my full options now read

There may well be other ways of getting there.

I'm afraid I've been unable to get my Bowers & Wilkins PX Bluetooth

I also tried with sec=none and it gave me the same error - which I
thought was odd.
But maybe the other end tried to negotiate it upwards.

Looks like I overlooked the issue. Authentication

Yes, this works in my piCorePlayer startup script. And the
JIVE_NOCURSOR=1 hides the mouse, but the behavior is the same as with
mouse cursor.

I just tried again but with a fresh pCP8 install (rather than an upgrade
from pCP7) on the RPi1 and has same issue.

The fact it only applies to MP3 is inconsistent but nobody cared too
much - however it only works for 44.1k - play non 44.1k and you get slow
playback or chipmunks.

The device creating the share (which worked with pCP 7) is a Freebox
(France ISP).
lsmod does not list hmac or md5
sudo modprobe hmac does not find loads le module
sudo modprobe md5 ...
for me (Ubuntu 20.04.2), lsmod does *not* show hmac as a loaded module.
I tried installing a perl-hmac something but that had no effect. Not
sure how to get hmac loaded.
This is a new problem for me though at pcp 8.0 (all worked at 7.0.1).

I just upgraded a family member's 7.01 to 8.0 and am getting the same
mount failure to a remote CIFS system (hmac error).
This is on an old RPI1
So I wonder if there is an issue with something missing or not
configured correctly for the processor used in RPI1 and RPi0

I see that now. Is there any reason why I have to disable mmap?

See my other post this morning, it was caused by turning the toolbar
off.

Did a fresh install and that bug is still there, had to put the settings
of 80::0: back in after turning the toolbar off. At first I thought it
was installing
Did a new install of PCP 8.0.0 this morning and the ALSA was set to
80,,1,. After I installed the Jivelite tweak, this was blank and I have
no audio from the headphone socket.
