Better late than never...
I just tried SqueezeLite and it is brilliant!!! What an amazing little
program!
I am running it on a Lubuntu Virtual Machine with just 256MB of RAM and
it runs like a charm. In fact it hardly uses ANY RAM. I bet it can even
run on 128MB or even a 64MB VM without a GUI.
What is it that you need squeezeplay for? If you need it just for
playback, you can use squeezeslave. You run squeezeslave in the
background and control it using the web page, a sb controller, or one of
the iOS or Andriod apps. If you are running a redhat based OS, there is
even a startup

using SP on the Linux box as a controller for other SBs) then I think
Squeezelite is a much better way to go.
That would be my recommendation too. Squeezelite is a doddle to get up
and running and has

True, but at present even the source code isn't available on the nightly
downloads site. I may still have a Squeezeplay 7.7.x tarball lying
around. Are there any restrictions on my making it available to the OP?
EDIT: And it did require jumping through a few hoops to get it

Many thanks for your reply.
If you see http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlay
It says SqueezePlay runs on the Mac, Windows and Linux desktop
operating systems and can be downloaded from the Nightly Builds.
And I do recall seeing it in the Nightly Builds a long time ago. But now

I know others have managed to get Squeezeplay to work on Linux with some
tinkering. I was not able to make it work as such, but now have it
working under WINE. If you have WINE installed it is simply a matter of
downloading the exe or Windows version of Squeezeplay and installing it
under WINE

I don't think Squeezeplay's gonna run in half a Meg of RAM... You sure
that ain't half a Gig (512mb)?
My Dad has a PC from 1990 with 1mb of Ram running Windows 3.1. Maybe you
could buy it as an upgrade? :)

Duh! Sorry it is half a Gigabyte! 512MB of RAM. Sorry!

Not sure about the RAM requirements. I had it running on 3 GB on my last
computer . Maybe someone else can say

Hi,
I am able to download (in the nightly builds section) SqueezePlay for
Windows and Mac, but not for Linux.
Does anyone know where it can be found to download?
Thanks.
