First issue is. For NFS, vers=3.0 is not valid, it is only vers=3
Samba is only for sharing files on the pCP device to other computers.
It is not used or needed for connecting to your NAS.

USB ports on NAS will probably only power the Pi. You wont be able to
access drives on the NAS that way.
Instead mount the drives via CIFS/NFS not as USB as you do with your Mac

I'll add the missing 1411200 and 1536000 sample rates for the next

Hi
I'm a longtime user of LMS but I am in the process of installing PCP on
a Raspberry Pi4 in order to use it as a standalone, always on, LMS
server attached by USB to 3TB of music on my NAS. Presently I run LMS on
my main computer (M1 MacMini) which is not convenient. I'm not really
familiar

The error message is shown when squeezelite has determined that the
sample rate of the stream is too high for the "supported sample rates" -
not sure where that comes

Thanks. And how do I "use the overlay" (sorry, don't know what that
means), where is the config and how do I access/save it? Sorry for basic
questions, but only been dabbling with pCP for about it a

Thanks so much for your help.
I have been able to use picoreplayer with internal wifi (with occasional
drop outs which are definitely my network rather than the software -
dongle will solve it).

As its a Vortexbox you must use CIFS not NFS. No additional set up on

Thanks. Done that.
in iwconfig I can see:

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Then I discovered the Squeezelite Output devices section on the Diags

simplest setting i.e. 'sysdefault:CARD=USB- E-MU 0404

I don't think I see an option on the NAS to do that. As mentioned that's

Thanks for that. I was under the impression that the NAS would behave

Lots of distractions so lets start with some basics.
Players do not "See" music. It is the LMS server that "Sees" the music
library, and then sends it to a player. You could very easily have the
piCorePlayer player device connecting to your Mac LMS server. If you
are getting confused with

Thanks. I'd seen your question to this effect in an earlier post, but so
far have had no luck setting up CIFS similarly (screenshot)

for CIFS, vers=3 is not valid. This the way the kernel developers
chose to do this, so please don't shoot me.
vers=3.0
And are you sure your NAS supports SMB version 3 protocol? Have you
tried vers=2.0 or even vers=1.0?

cifs-utils will handle the SMB versions automatically. The reason that
it is not included by default...it adds 30MB of dependencies..
pCP is the minimalist approach to an OS.

This worked so far that no it doesn't behave like a mouse any more.
Where ever I click I get an instance feedback. So far so great.
But it seems my touch event behaves like a long press.
my picoreplayer is connected to a TV (1080p resolution) and I can see
the system booting and even the splashscreen of jivelite but then the
screen is 100% dark.
Killing the jivelite process shows the system back and then a new
splashscreen but still not the usual output of jivelite.

His NAS is in fact a Vortexbox. Initially referred to as a NAS but later
revealed to actually be a VB which he was trying to connect to his Pi by
USB.
I dont think NFS is installed on
I'm getting the occasional, very brief audio glitch on my Sennheiser 440

frequencies, so wondered if the Pi's WAP Wi-Fi could be interfering with
the Pi's
the only way it works cleanly, is to use the newer pi3B+ of rpi4, and
use the 5G channels for WiFi.
If you only have a 2.4 WiFi availiable, you need a separate WiFi stick,
or separate bluetooth. Get the antennas separated.
