work.
It show briefly an error such can't open file...
Could it be that Listen Live is not allowed abroad?

is it possible to stream an audio cd direct from the pc drive?
I have a friend that will not invest time into ripping a large CD

hello All,
my old Squeezebox2 should display DateTime when powered off, but it
shows nothing.
It used to work once, I think it's just getting old...
I checked the player setting on the web interface, and it does say
DateTime.
Any ideas?

as a follow up, this is what I did:
-logged in as gian
-mkdir test
-cd test
-touch testfile
-recorded permission values of directory (755) and file (644)
-edited smb.conf and changed create mask value to 644 and dir mask to
755
-rescan music folder
-NOW SS shows the albums
Comments very welcome
repository, so it does not get autoupdated, like my other
install.
Which is the easiest path to upgrade (or to hell...) ?

I am running SS on a Ubuntu Dapper Drake box.
After the first attempts, my best setup is:
1. small partition for /
2. extralarge partition for /home
3. swap partition
All music is in my /home/gian/musica.
This way I can reinstall the OS without touching my music files.
Tested, it works.
Also
I understand security issues, but why older folders are set as
slimserver/546 ?
The initial setup comes from the Debian install.

For curiosity sake, I opened phpMyAdmin as user root to peek inside the
database, but I could not find anything relating to squeezecenter.

desktop, but is not recognized by Squeezelite:

ok, have wired connected the SB3: I guess it defaulted on eth0 rather
than wlan0, at boot.
Anyway the wifi reports 100% as it is at one foot from the access
point.
After as little as one minute of playing, it rebooted.
Should I consider it dead?!

Also swapped the power adapter from another SB3: no luck.
The SB makes loud clicks and reboots in about a minute of playback.

sorry if I crosspost, but I realized that this was the place to post
when I had already started a new thread which I am not able to delete.
So, I burned a fresh image to an SD card, booted the Raspy with an Arcam
rPac USB DAC connected.
Everything looked fine, I was able to see the

Connected everything, booted the little thing, wifi is the only network
and is ok, it shows the pCP page... but NO player on LMS.
I tried adding the server ip and wifi MAC address, rebooting, but no
way.
Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Did everything from scratch...
Burned SD card, the player shows up on the LMS page, as soon as I add
wifi settings, it vanishes even with eth0 connected.
Setting wifi off doesn't cure, neither removing the usb radio.
I'm stuck, because wifi is needed where I had in mind to replace a dead
SB.

my LSM is built on Ubuntu server LTS, and I do not have issues with an
SB3 and SBradio working fine all the time.

about the protocol that connects LMS with players, if that is Upnp, the
Upnp-inspector on Ubuntu lists the LMS, SB3, SBradio but not the Raspi.
It looks like it does not advertise itself.

neither, and they all worked fine before I replaced a "classic" tower pc
with a beaglebone black and an USB drive.
So, either is the arm install of LMS that has got something wrong, of
the bottleneck is in the drive...
CPU is around 5%..
one last thought... even if cable connected, my SB3 and my Touch show
not ideal scores running the network test at 1000kbps, and even

ok, so I solved the problem right away... replaced the Beagle with a
Raspberry 3... and it works like a charm...
Will find another use for the Beagle, someday (with a different image).

well, no it wasn't the LAN...
I replaced the BBB with a Raspberry 3 with a Minibian Jessie image, and
everything works like a charm.

I did some network tests loading iperf on both, server and player (in
this case a Raspi).
What emerged was that the bandwith was ok from the LMS host to the
player, but not the other way round: 45 Mbits vs 478Kbits.
I tested my laptop on the same cable, just in case, and it was ok, so it
must

there is a bandwidth issue on my LAN.
I am trying to understand why is it so, being a home LAN, though a bit
more extended that a typical one.

I've gone a bit further... I apt-get installed iperf both on the BBB
server and a Raspi player.
It looks that the bandwidth is ok from the LMS host to the player, but
not the other way round:

is the difference between the standard install and

it is finished..
The power adapter reads 5.25 volts, so it should not be responsible.
Is there anything inside worth checking? a fuse?

Somehow Michael is right.
I took one of the two Raspi away with me for the weekend, installed a
fresh Raspbian Lite on another SD.
I did not enter ANY command, just booted the OS, run raspi-config to
setup wifi country, and checked what was the output of ifconfig: the MAC
address of wlan0 was
Playing Time: 205:52:20
I am puzzled..
