To OP:
On your router settings, you seem to have "Always use this IP address =
NO".
Shouldn't that be "YES"?

Can you use something like InSSIDer (on Windows) to check the WiFi
channels in use in your vicinity: their strength and channel numbers?

Aren't the clever PCB-based antennae on Pis _orientation_sensitive_?
I got better WiFi reception with a Pi (Pi3 actually) VERTICAL, rather
than horizontal.

Thanks for the reply, Paul.
Actually, I could not set ANY of the Grid Screen "Settings" - there is
no "OK" nor "Select" button!

I am using a real Slim SqBox infra-red remote, but when trying to select
some options, the remote has (bizarrely) no OK -or select- button in the
centre of the up/down/left/right arrow keys.
The play or right arrow buttons work for some, but not all,
operations. An attached USB keyboard or
Just to add to this, if anyone has similar issues: my screen looks like
this with the "Screen" button highlit:

Depending on the ambient light, etc, it's a pretty subtle highlight, and
sometimes very difficult to see.
Maybe an option to, say:

Thanks. I've tried Ralphy's suggestion:

I did that (uncommenting the last line):
Code:

Thanks for the reply, Greg.
No, this is (unfortunately) NOT the official Pi screen. It's the screen
causing calibration problems in pCP/Jivelite in this thread:

- which I think has been

Is it possible to increase the on-screen button highlight contrast?
I find on my 7in screen I can barely distinguish the highlit buttons
from the unhighlit ones.
Is there a web-interface setting (that I haven't found yet) or a CLI
command or config.txt setting I can use to improve the
Yes, I think you're right. I believe it's this screen:

With pCP (and TinyCoreLinux of course) I'm not sure how to calibrate?

This is the back of my screen - obviously a totally different design
from yours, and I'm beginning to wonder if it is in fact a Waveshare
screen at all:

Not sure if this is the relevant part of -dmesg-:

Thanks, Yatsushiro - I will look at that too. I have a capacitative

Thanks, Greg. You did indeed warn me - and that's when I started
worrying that, by installing such things, I was doing things not allowed
and beyond my pay grade!
Thanks too, Paul. It is true, I did use different event numbers, as I
had installed a power-off switch between the two episodes.
Thanks for the replies, Greg and Paul.
I installed "git" into pcp's TinyCoreLinux with
Code:
tce-load -iw git
then used
Code:
sudo rm -rf LCD-show
git clone https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show.git
chmod -R 755

HDMI-audio are you?
I am, and I only recently discovered they have problems with HDMI-audio
- sometimes the signal disappears spontaneously when switching audio
paths - necessitating a power off/on reset on the screen.

Hi
I appreciate that PCP/Jivelite works out of the box with the Pi's own
7in touchscreen, and the commercial reasons for doing that.
However, I am trying (as are others) to get PCP to work with the range
of Waveshare 5 & 7 inch touchscreens. They are HDMI-attached for
video/audio and
