I like this conversation on list - I don’t consider it spam.

Martin are there elements of Videolinkwell that you would consider useful as a
community library?

I intended to comment on list, because I was impressed with Videolinkwell and
thought folks on the list might be interested!

I watched the videos and think your app is really cool and worthwhile.

There! I did it again!

Hi List.

I didn't mean to spam everyone with this. I did not notice I was conversing
with David G thru the use-LiveCode list till just now. We can take this
offline.

But since you now have the links you can do a trial of my software. Curious

Hi David

I have attached a manual for VideoLinkwell. It walks through the different
features that the app has.
It is for an older version (3.2) but mostly applicable. I haven’t had time to
update it yet.

I have also attached the most recent Mac version of Videolinkwell - 3.5.2. If
you need the windows version I can send it soon. It is done but I am having
trouble with code signing it. I got it to work for the earlier versions but
won’t work now. Not sure what I am doing differently now than before.

To try out the software you can start a trial on videolinkwell.com to get your
login credentials then you will use those credentials to log into the
VideoLinkwell software.

If you want we can do a Zoom session and I could do a demo for you.

VideoLinkwell looks like a great tool, Martin. I spend a lot of time analysing
video recorded police interviews, so I I know what a huge slog it is to
document what happens and at which point(s) in a video.

Is there a walkthrough of features/tools?

Re: Cmi5 eLearning Standard in LiveCode MEETING TODAY AT 1 PM EST

2021-01-18 Thread Martin Koob via use-livecode
Hi.

Sorry I am on a train and trying to connect with my phone with cell and we are
goin thru an area with 3G.

If we get back to LTE territory I will try again.

I did hear a bit of what David was saying about his use case with playing
videos at different starting points.

I am interested in seeing how xAPI and/or Cmi5 can be used to store a learning
record that contains a number of video time points in a video of a student’s
work including current time, start time and end time. I have the app that
records this info. Next step is to create xAPI statements.

Another comment I had was that in the Fall 2020 xAPI cohort I joined team
#audio-video
Hoping to work on this idea. This team worked on this in past cohorts so there
is work we could build on if we took this on as a project.

Can someone post the above to meeting chat?

Hopefully I can join back in soon.

If not I will watch the recording. Let me know when the next meeting is.

Martin

Re: [ANN] Reminder - LiveCode Meeting

2016-10-16 Thread Beda Sellung Posteo
Hello

I’ve got the reminder but perhaps not the announcement. But honestly, it had
been to far for me to go there, if I would not have combined it with a weekend
holiday, but that would be a good idea!

Perhaps it would be possible for me to come to the next meeting in Antwerpen,
it would be nice if you would add me to your list for more informations,
thanks!

I wish you the best success for today,
Beda Sellung

LiveCode meeting

2016-10-08 Thread Mark Schonewille

Nederland (Tilburg of Utrecht).

onderwerpen behoren: LiveCode 8, widgets, Valentina, SuperCard 4.8,

boek Programming LiveCode for the Real Beginner.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Sunday 16th October I will organise a meeting somewhere in the
Netherlands (Tilburg or Utrecht. I know it is on short notice, but by
oganising it on this date, we make it possible for a foreign participant
to be present at the meeting. I hope you will be able to attent the
meeting on this day.

The meeting will be informal and take several hours. Possible subjects
are: LiveCode 8, widgets, SuperCard 4.8, Arduino, de new HyperDuino, and
HyperStudio. You are also invited to tell something about your own
project(s) or to ask your fellow-LiveCoders a number of questions.

Additionally we raffle off a licence of HyperStudio and a copy of the
book Programming LiveCode for the Real Beginner.

Moreover there is a plan to organise a meeting in february or march in
Antwerp (Belgium). We will talk about this at the first next meeting.
Make sure you're there, if you would like to be involved in any decisions.

I'll send an e-mail to everyone on my list within a few days. Hopefully
I'll be able to provide more news later this week.

Thanks, Peter. For several years now our group meets on the first
Thursday of each month.

The only times we've missed a meeting is when the first Thursday
conflicts with a major holiday (sometimes in July for US Independence
Day), or when Pasadena is in a declared state of emergency (happened
once with hurricane-level winds in Dec '11).

Details for each meeting and other local events of interest to the
community are in the SoCal User Group section of the User Groups and

Our next meeting will be Nov 5.

Op vrijdag 9 oktober 2015 wordt er een LiveCode-bijeenkomst
georganiseerd.
gevorderd.

If by "virtually" you mean "not driving because I took the train" I'd
happily pick you up at Union Station. :)

But if you were thinking more along the lines of a webcast of some sort,
I think our informal meeting structure and the layout and acoustics of
the venue wouldn't lend themselves well to that. Amidst poor audio the
most striking moment would be when dessert arrives, and you'd become
insanely jealous when you see the excellent selection of pies they serve
up at Du-par's. :)

But if you're ever in the 'hood on the first Thursday of any month we'd
love to have you.

And of course that goes for anyone else on this list, and that includes
picking you up at the train station. Just let me know in advance. My
office is only a few minutes from Union Station, and the venue is just a
couple minutes from our local Metro station, so if anyone wants to
arrive via train I'll happily be your solution to the last-mile problem.
We don't have nearly enough trains in California, but the few we have
are pretty nice.

Clarence's code may not prove a useful case for optimizing others given
the unusual constraints he needs to work within.

But if optimization techniques are your thing, this is perhaps the best
thread on optimization I've seen in our community yet:

It's five pages long, and better reading that many novels. Take your
time, it's an enjoyable thread, a story of an algo that originally took
9 minutes getting pared down shorter and shorter on each page from
various members of the community until eventually it's completed in just
a few milliseconds.

I'll go ahead and spoil the ending because it's somewhat predictable:
Dick Kreisel's contribution was the fastest.

LiveCode-bijeenkomst September 2015 / LiveCode Meeting September 2015

2015-08-08 Thread Mark Schonewille
*** LiveCode-bijeenkomst September 2015 ***

(see below for English version)

uitkomt. Op basis daarvan kiezen we een definitieve datum for the bijeenkomst.

*** LiveCode Meeting September 2015 ***

Our last meeting is almost a year ago. It is time to meet again! I am currently
planning to have another LiveCode meeting after summer holidays.

To get an indication of how many people may beinterested in a meeting, I'd like
to ask you to fill out the following form:

https://nl.surveymonkey.com/s/8BZTJGJ

The form has 10 questions and takes no more than a few minutes.

The questions about Arduino are related to the fact that we have two people
dealing with Arduino now. It may be interesting to not only watch a demo but
actively participate in an Arduino workshop. I would like to know the potential
to organise this.

In about two weeks, I will ask you again which day suits you best. We will use
that info to choose the definite date for the meeting.

[ANN] LiveCode Meeting in the Netherlands - It is free

2014-09-03 Thread Mark Schonewille

Hi,

This is the latest news about the meeting. Several people have
registered now. I hope to gather between 10 and 20 people on 20th
September. Entrance is free.

We will have a license for HyperStudio to raffle off. This is really
cool. I'm sure someone is going to have a lot of fun with this. Have a
look at http://bit.ly/HSTestDrive for some inspirational ideas. Many
thanks Roger Wagner for providing the license!

We'll also give away an e-book from TidBITS' Take Control series and of
course a copy of my own book Programming LiveCode for the Real Beginner.
A license for ChartsEngine is also available as well as a license for
Installer Maker. So far, we have EUR 100 worth of goodies and gifts.

We're now deciding on the agenda. There will be a presentation, followed
by a discussion, but we're still looking for more people who would like
to prepare a presentation, demonstration or a discussion topic. Anything
is possible. Contact me if you want to make a contribution.

If you would like to spend the night in Utrecht, we can help you to find
a suitable hotel. Utrecht is a beautiful city and there are plenty of
hotels. It is a great place to spend a long weekend.

We are considering to rent a room for the meeting. Probably, there will
be room for at most 20 people. Please, register as soon as possible if
you want to participate. Just send me an e-mail, or use Twitter,
LinkedIn or Facebook. You can also call me, if you have my phone number.

I'll send another e-mail, as soon as there is more info. You can now
find some information about this meeting at
http://blog.economy-x-talk.com and I will continuously update this blog.

See below for contact information and links to the websites of our sponsors.

--Dutch Announcement--

Hallo,

geweldig is.

alsmede een exemplaar van mijn eigen boek Programming LiveCode for the
Real Beginner.

gespreksronde willen voorbereiden. Alles is mogelijk.

Stuur me een mailtje of gebruikt Twitter, LinkedIn of
Facebook.

LiveCode Meeting 20 September 2014 - Please Register Now!

2014-08-29 Thread Mark Schonewille
Hi,

As you may know already, another LiveCode meeting will be organised on 20
September 2014. We intend to organise a really international gathering with
participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, America, the United Kingdom and
Germany. A few domestic as well as foreign participants have registered already.

We hope we may welcome you as a participant too. There will be several short
presentations and there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion.
Evidently, there is also a possibility to socialise. After the meeting, we may
have a drink or go somewhere for dinner.

Like the previous time in Switzerland, we will collect a few special discounted
offers for you and we hope to raffle off a few licenses and e-books for free.
In any case, I will give away a copy of the book Programming for the Real
Beginner and a license for Installer Maker. If you have a product that you
would like to promote, please send me a message.

We are still looking for people who want to discuss a subject, demonstrate a
product or give a presentation. Possible examples are commercial products, a
hobby project or just an interesting idea. Even if you don't know what you may
do yet, contact me and we'll come up with something interesting.

The meeting is expected to start around 12:00h., possible a little later, and
will be finished no later than 17:00h. We try to find a really good location in
Utrecht, to make sure that nobody needs to travel very far. If you know about a
good location in the city of Utrecht, please let me know.

If you haven't done so yet, please let me know if you intend to participate.

eHUG organizes LiveCode meeting in the Netherlands - Sa. 20 July 2013

2013-07-19 Thread Mark Schonewille

Beste allemaal,

adres is:

Coffee Cream
Willemstraat 18
4811 AL Breda
Nederland

willen nemen.

het boek is Take Control Of Using Mountain Lion, geschreven door Matt
Neuburg.

LiveCode for the Real Beginner beschikbaar.

opnemen.

Coffee Cream is close to the railway station in the city centre.
Here's a link http://goo.gl/maps/RMzAV to Google Maps. WIFI is
available and there are 1 or 2 power outlets. However, it is recommended
to make sure that the battery of your laptop is fully charged if you
decided to take your laptop with you.

We expect approximately 10 participants from three different countries.
there will be three or four brief presentations. Possible subjects are:
Metacard in technical education; a game to learn accounting; an overview

LiveCode Meeting Sunday 17 June

2012-06-12 Thread Mark Schonewille

Wellicht zullen we in

Dear LiveCoders in the Netherlands and anyone interested,

On Sunday 17 June 2012, the European HyperCard User Group (eHUG) will organise
a meeting. The meeting is aimed specifically at LiveCode users. Are you a
die-hard LiveCode programmer or still searching for the programming language
that suits you most? Don't miss this event!

The meeting starts at 13:00h. and lasts 4 hours at most. We start with a brief
introduction of the participants and an assessment of their interests. What
happens next has to stay a surprise for a little longer. We might give you a
quick overview of LiveCode and will probably answer questions about LiveCode
and eHUG. There will also be an opportunity to ask more technical questions.

This meeting is the only opportunity to meet LiveCode programmers or to get
acquainted with LiveCode in the foreseeable future. If you want to get started
with LiveCode on the spot, we recommend bringing with you a laptop with at
least Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.4.11.
