Alex, Check the Javadocs because the perform() method is GONE in Struts v1.2.4, deprecated in v1.1, and normal for the old v1.0. So, what version are you using? Probably v1.2.4 since defining perform() like that will never be called resulting in a standard dummy execute() method being invoked
