Koushik,

Thank you for your response.

I am indeed able to trigger a resizeVolume API call as the user. So this
would appear to be a bug in the UI, no? Perhaps I should submit a
report.

Thanks,

Hi Dag,

I'm running CS 4.8.

It's a little different than those bugs; I reviewed those with hope. It
seemed like back then the issue was that nobody had the UI element to
resize the disk, whereas now the issue (at least as I see it) is that
only the Admin account gets the UI element.

Can anybody else confirm whether or not they see the UI element to
resize the disk as regular user or domain admin in CS 4.8?

Thanks,
Andy

Allow users to resize root volume of a template-based instance?

2016-06-07 Thread Andy Dills

We're using 4.8, with Xen as the hypervisor.

We're finding that only the Admin account can adjust the size of a root
volume. Domain Admins and User accounts aren't given the option to
resize the volume. I have the same storage tag on all of the disk
offerings, and on the primary storage. Resize shows up and works great
when I'm logged in as admin, but none of the users get the icon.

Is there a way to enable this? The documentation seems to suggest it
should be visible to both users and admins, and that as long as multiple
disk offerings share a common storage tag, they should be presented as
options.

I notice in the storage properties for the volume, the "Disk Offering"
is blank, even though I clearly picked an offering.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Andy
