No Paul, there were no such issuesin the past,
even with much bigger files opened at the same time.
And I just found similar problem in Write.
After certain number of pictures (not very big)
it would not paste.

You didn't have *any* slowdown? That's impressive.
Still, I'd hate to be the one maintaining such a large file.

[libreoffice-users] Re: How to stop toolbars from popping up

2013-09-20 Thread Denis J Navas

The opposite is just fine.

Have it permanently activated is better if you constantly works documents
with several tables and graphics, because you will need access quickly some
functions the bars provides, for instance, some setting in table properties
or establishing names to tables and graphics.

Activate the bars from the menu. Place it at your left or your right.
Another position, is like a small box over an area like the navigator or the
stylist bar.

Use a zoom that leves a minimum margin between the "paper" and the window
space available, to avoid the constant movement due to change in the zoom
level to adjust to a new margin because a new bar, reduce the windows space.

Sometimes, the bars get deactivated. Reactivate when you see fit.

[libreoffice-users] Re: grammar check

2013-09-20 Thread Kumara
That's what I noticed too. We have to make sure that

1. Grammar check is enabled
Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - Writing Aids *
TICK Check grammar as you type

2. Enable rules
Choose *Tools - Extension Manager*
Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - English sentence checking*
TICK what you like the checker to check.

As you can see, the rules are very bare. If you want to a more serious
grammar checker, install LanguageTool (www.languagetool.org). It's a free
extension. That's what I use.

[libreoffice-users] Version 4.1 Reverses protected fields in protected sheets

2013-09-20 Thread justlostintime
In the Windows version of 4.1 when I open a large spread sheet with protected
fields the field protection is reversed, I can access all the protected
cells but can not access any of the un-protected cells. The spread sheet was
originally created in office 2010,

There does not seem to be a problem with the linux version. the
extension of the file is .xlsx

If I open the file, and un-protect the sheet, then re-protect the sheet
and mark the access protected cells to off. and re-save the sheet seems to
work fine

Has anyone else reported this problem, It's annoying having to do this
with all my old files, to use LO

Thanks
Brian

Yes.

You'll have to get involved with the LibO development team.

For LightProof, I don't know. For the LanguageTool (www.languagetool.org),
which is much better than LightProof, you can do so at it's website. You're
very much welcome.

Unfortunately, we can only use one grammar checker at a time, although we may
install more than one (besides the inbuilt LightProof). Decide on one and
select it while disabling others at Tools - Options - Language Settings -
Writing Aids
