[libreoffice-users] Help with table in a table

2014-06-12 Thread Pikov Andropov
I'm trying to set up 3x5 grid in a document.

Each element of the grid is a table.

I succeeded in creating the grid and the first table. Now I would like
to copy that table into each position of the rest of the grid.

I tried Table Select Table
CTRL-C

Click in the second grid window
CTRL-V

I do not get what I want.

What is the correct procedure for doing this?

Incidentally, this procedure was successful in Word and Kingsoft Writer,
so I'm confident that there's away to to it in LO.

Thanks.

I'm hoping that by grid you also mean table.

I think the problem occurs only if you have nothing before the nested
table in the outer table cell. Here's a workaround:
o Put something before your nested table in the outer table cell: an
empty paragraph will do. If you have already created your nested
table, you can do this by putting the cursor at the beginning of its
top left cell and pressing Alt+Enter.
o Copy the whole cell of the outer table, including the nested table
- not just the nested table itself. You can do this by dragging
across the cell, using Table | Select | Cells, using Edit | Select
All, or pressing Ctrl+A (with the cursor inside the cell but outside
the nested table).

o Copy and paste as necessary.
o Delete the extraneous empty paragraphs.

Incidentally, this procedure was successful in Word and Kingsoft
Writer, so I'm confident that there's a way to do it in LO.

Oh, I wouldn't assume that LibreOffice was like any other product!
But yes: it will usually achieve what you need.

I trust this helps.

I have found a bit of a work around. For the inner table, set the
alignment left and specify a width. Make the cell of the outer table
wide enough (drag border) to get the cursor in the cell with the inner
table, then drag the cursor to select the contents of that cell (drag it
a cell down and back) then do CTL-C, CTL-V to other cells of the outer
table.

I think you are making this too complicated and underselling
yourself! You may not need that adjustment of the nested table's
properties, as there will usually be an empty paragraph after the
nested table and therefore available space from which to drag.
Instead, your trick of selecting the outer table's cell (including
the nested table) by dragging from that cell to an adjacent cell and
back again is all that is required. That's a much simpler solution than mine!

[libreoffice-users] Проблемы с изображениями в base64. Problem with images encoded in base64

2014-06-12 Thread NickKolok

When I open html file with base64-encoded image, the image has wrong (default)
size - only if img tag hasn't width and height attrs.
There is an example in attached file - html with 3 images: regular http without
width and height, base64 without width and height, base64 with width and height
Yours sincerely,
NickKolok

[libreoffice-users] Extensions by Openoffice

Hi! I want to install some extensions from Openoffice in LO, can I do it
without any severe problems? Will they function in Libreoffice?

Re: [libreoffice-users] Macro problem

2014-06-12 Thread Andrew Douglas Pitonyak

On 06/11/2014 07:53 AM, Gavin Buxton wrote:

Hi

I'm writing a book on using spreadsheets for computer modeling, and on my
last model I've ran into a slight problem. Libreoffice calc is doing
something new. I'm using macro's to update the time step by simply copying
the new information over the old information. For example, imagine having a
number in cell A1 and then in cell B1 you type =A1 + 1. Then you copy and
paste (special with number only) the number from B1 to A1, such that A1 is
now 1 more than it was to start with and B1 is now double the original A1.
I can keep running the macro and continually count upwards. I create a
button that when pressed runs the macro. However, whereas before pressing
the button repeatedly always worked, now I have to press the button and
then click elsewhere on the spreadsheet and then press the button again.

Wondering if I'm missing anything obvious?

Nope, probably not missing something obvious :-)

Are you using dispatch messages?

What happens if you change the macro to do something like this:

  Dim oSheet
  oSheet = ThisComponent.Sheets(0)
  oSheet.getCellByPosition(0, 0).setValue(oSheet.getCellByPosition(1,
0).getValue())

Note, cell (0,0) is A1 and (1,0) is B1.

My guess is that the problem goes away. I think that it is related to
what has the focus and how you issue the dispatch.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Extensions by Openoffice

2014-06-12 Thread Andrew Douglas Pitonyak

I publish the same extension to both LO and AOO and it works fine in both.

The extension will work, or not, based on how the extension is written.
What is the extension? Do you know the implementation language? If

My extension is in basic so there is no external dependency, which means
that it should work on any platform or distribution (unless I use an API
that was changed in one or the other). I would say just install it and
see if it works. That said, if they have a different version based on
the platform, it is less likely to work. If it is written in basic, it
is probably fine. In C++, I expect that it might not work; but I am only
guessing.

Which extension is it? What platform do you use (windows? Linux? Mac?)
