I’ve been having OpenOffice “crash issues” while creating documents and
occasionally loading them. I have OpenOffice on both my iMac 2020 (Intel) and
MacBook Pro (M1) processor computers.
Regarding updating Apache OpenOffice: Am I to uninstall the current version and
reinstall the new

Ik ga er maar even van uit dat je Windows gebruikt?
Kan zijn dat de installatiebestanden zijn verwijderd waardoor 4.1.14 niet goed
wil installeren.
Kijk eens bij de Instellingen > Programma's verwijderen of 4.1.13 daar nog
staat.
Als dat zo is, probeer die dan eens te Repareren en, als dat gelukt
Open office niet meer te openen,
Paar keer 4.1.14 programma gedownlaod maar installeren lukt niet; 4.1.1.13 zit
in de weg, maar het lukt me niet om dat te verwijderen.

There were pieces of an old version of OpenOffice lurking in my system.
I
removed them and reinstalled OpenOffice (from https://www.openoffice.org/)
and OpenOffice is working now.
