Highlight file icon in folder (or whole folder), select ‘get info’ in drop
down file menu at top of finder screen. At bottom there’s a permissions
option (you might have to enter password to unlock) where you can allocate
‘read only’ or ‘write and read’.

Sometimes this happens to me when opening a file. My answer has always been to
close and reopen it. The other method people suggest, which I think is more
effort, is to "Save As: and give it a different name. Don't forget to back up
your work.Alan.

Hi Sam,
When this happens I either close and re-open or if this doesn't work use "
file/save as" and give it a slightly different name. WAlanhen I am happy that
all is well I delete the old file and "rename" the new one with the original
name, if need be.

Open the document and then go to "file /save as" and give ot a new name.
Also it some times, mostly, works if you close and re-open the document.Good
luck,Alan.

The subject line is for the subject, your questions should go in the body.
Why you can’t use OpenOffice is hard to guess as you don’t tell what the
problem is.
Are there any error messages ?

A google search for "user rights windows 10" will turn up a number of
sites with potential solutions. This is a Windows issue, not Apache

First of all you need to know why the file is READ ONLY there are a
couple of good reasons for example
the file could be saved as READ ONLY by purpose or a file could been
improperly closed.
If improper closed you see a file that starts with .~lock. than your
file name and anding with # e.g.
Dealing with balky read-only files is quite simple. Just open the file to
view it, do "select all" (usually ctrl-A), copy it to the clipboard
(ctrl-C), open a new file using whatever file extension/file type applies,
do a paste (ctrl-V), then do "save as" with a new filename. Then you are
free

You could try "save a copy" and edit that.

Thank you, Andrew.
It appears that the read-only settings apply to documents in the \DOCUMENTS\
and \ONEDRIVE\ folders in your OpenOffice History.
The next test is to find out exactly where those folders are on your Windows 10
PC.
Let's concentrate on the \DOCUMENTS folder.
Find where
With my e-mail client, if I open the document directly from the e-mail
client then it is read-only. Clicking on the 'Edit File' button in the
toolbar offers the possibility of editing a copy of the file.
Alternatively, if I first save the document somewhere and then open it
from there, it is
