Dear Open Office people, My mistake here. It seems that when I installed the update the list of "recent" documents was wiped. It seems further that because the program no longer recognised any "recent" documents it also failed to show the heading "recent" on the pop up menu. Since using

I wonder whether you actually have the same problem I had. "Recent Documents" could be stored anywhere - and if you go the the folder(s) I'll bet they are still there. The problem is that OO is not very clever at saving the list of "recent documents". If you open OO first then you may find them

Hello Jada, I am not familiar enough with OO to know why you are generating the double spaces in the first place, but once your document is complete it is very easy to get rid of them. Simply use "Find and Replace". In the "find" type two spaces (ie use the space bar twice) In the "replace"
