How do I make Arial the default font in Writer? That is, when I open a new
document the font is Arial.

Are you sure that you didn't download MS Office?
I've done many installations of Open Office and have never needed a
product key. Since it's a free download, you won't have a cd key,
certificate of authenticity nor a purchase confirmation e-mail as
there will not be one.

I'm a long-time lurker of the list, but, unfortunately, haven't been able to
find the information I've been needing for the longest time.
Almost two-years ago, I created a business performing computer repair
services for residential and small business clients. Now that the
Downloaded your program last night. Tried to run the program this morning and
my computer said that the installer I tried to use was corrupted or incomplete.
Anyway cannot use your program yet. What exactly did that message mean or how
can I get my computer to accept your program?
I am starting a small business building custom computers and I want to know
if I can distribute open office with the new computers I build. I will not
charge extra for your software but I don't want to violate your ownership
rights.

Is there a way I can make my own custom layout for a slide and add it to
the slide layouts in impress. I have seen this question a couple times
around the web and haven't seen an answer. Any tips greatly appreciated.

assistance in locating a template to build a database for my upstart
business.

I have a 2 page Writer document. First page is an envelope and second page
contains a letter. When I add a horizontal rule to that page, only 40% of each
line is printed. The remainder of each line is blank.
Running OOo 2.0.1 on windows xp.
