[ovirt-users] Trying to understand the mixed storage configuration options.

2016-05-11 Thread Jason Ziemba
I'm fairly new to oVirt (coming from ProxMox) and trying to wrap my head
around the mixed (local/NAS) data domain options that are available.

I'm trying to configure a set of systems to have local storage, as their
primary data storage domain, though also want to have the ability to have a
NAS based data domain for guests that are 'mobile' between hosts.
Currently I'm able to do one or the other, but not both (so it seems).

When I put all of the systems in to a single cluster (or single
data-center) I'm able to have the shared data domain, though have only
found the ability to configure one system for local storage (not all of
them). When I split them out in to separate data centers, they all have
their local data domain working, but only a single dc is able to access the
shared data domain at a time.

Am I missing something along the way (probably fairly obvious) that does
exactly what I'm outlining, or is this functionality not available by
design?

Any assistance/guidance is greatly appreciated.

[ovirt-users] RemoveDiskSnapshots error's on engine log

2016-05-11 Thread Ivo Rütsche

Hi List

At the moment, we replace a filer and we have to move the VM's to
another filer. We have a lot of problems with it. Sometime we have to
restart the engine, sometime we have to move the image arround and
sometimes we don't have a chance to remove the snapshots. When the VM is
running, most of the time the snapshot remove never starts.

Now, i found these errors every second in the engine.log since today:

I try everything, but i can't find the problem.

Anyone who have an idea, where i have to search?

Thank's for help.

2016-05-11 Thread David Jaša
Sorry, once more:

HTML5 client supports audio in trunk only so you'd have to grab it from
there as well as spice-server... (spice-server has at least been
released with html5 support).

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt All in one spice-sound

2016-05-11 Thread David Jaša
Audio should work with thick client (launched using both plug-in and .vv
file - natively) in all cases.

HTML5 client IIRC supports audio. It requires opus codec support on the
server however which isn't included in el7 spice-server yet. Keep your
fingers crossed for 7.3 or try with your own build of more recent spice
server, rebuilt with opus support enabled (but in that case, use some
_released_ version, the master has seen a lot of churn in last 1/2 year
without much real-world testing).

No, unfortunately no since we need to follow a change in kollaglue
containers structure.

There is an outgoing effort here:

Re: [ovirt-users] Rép. : RE: Iso issue

2016-05-11 Thread Jack Greene
That’s why you can’t see it in the engine. UID:GID need to be 36:36. You can
test this by manually changing the ownership in the ISO directory.

chown 36:36 *.iso

Your nfs-server is stripping the UID

My exports file looks like

[root@s2 ~]# cat /etc/exports

/mnt/iso192.168.1.0/24(rw,sync,no_acl)

The UID and GID are 0.

Did the nfs-server change the UID:GID of the uploaded file?

If you do a ls –l of the /ISO/.../--/ directory, does it still show
36:36 for the iso?

Do you have any ideas ?

This is weird, guest agent has nothing to do with audio - audio is
driven purely by VM's OS components (PA and alsa in this case).

Anyway, I'm glad it works for you.

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt All in one spice-sound

2016-05-11 Thread Johan Vermeulen
Hello David,

thank you very much for the reply.

Both host, client and the machine from wich I connect through Spice is
Centos7
In the guest machine, I see an audio card with lspci:

00:04.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family)
High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Subsystem: Red Hat, Inc QEMU Virtual Machine
Physical Slot: 4
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
Memory at fe02 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

What I did now ( I think ) is check "use guest agent" in admin console and
now it works.

Thanks again for the help.

greetings, J.

Re: [ovirt-users] Exclamation mark on Windows guests Ovirt 3.6.5

2016-05-11 Thread Jack Greene
Hi Darryl,

This drove me nuts too. For some reason the guest drivers were missing
something (still don't know for sure). I tried changing timezones, etc.

Finally I found the "oVirt-toolsSetup_3.6.0_0.2_master.fc22.iso"

The setup on that image worked with Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 10
Enterprise and Windows Server 2012r2. My exclamation marks are gone.

Good luck, Jack

Hi Darryl,

do you have an ovirt guest agent installed on your guests? If yes, could you
please check in webadmin in VM main tab -> pick your VM which show this
exclamation mark -> guest info subtab -> what is in "type" part?

Thanx,

Re: [ovirt-users] virt-in-virt problem: DHCP failing for a container in a oVirt VM

2016-05-11 Thread Will Dennis
OK; I searched the oVirt site for 'engine-config' (unfamiliar with it) and
found the following page:
https://www.ovirt.org/develop/developer-guide/engine/engine-config-examples/

I see the instructions on it for "Adding VM custom properties (macspoof)", so I
did execute the referenced engine-config line, and then restarted the
ovirt-engine service. I then went and powered off the VM I'd like to deactivate
mac spoof filtering on, then went in to the User Portal and clicked "Edit" on
the VM. However, I can not find a "Custom Properties" dialog anywhere in the VM
Edit UI (yes, I did enable Advanced options.) Where should I be seeing this?

Please check the README that Simone linked to.

You have to add a property using engine-config.
It will appear in the ui when editing a VM, under custom properties.

deploy it again?

[ovirt-users] SELinux and oVirt

2016-05-11 Thread Cam Mac
Hi,

In the oVirt guide, it says that "SELinux is being used by default on oVirt
Node", but then goes on to say that if you have problems you should set it
to permissive mode. I have had a few things fail due to being blocked by
SELinux on a node I later enabled SELinux on, as it was off at install
time. The other node which has had SELinux on from the start and so far has
not had any oVirt operations blocked. I am guessing that the oVirt install
process creates the necessary rules to allow vdsm to run under SELinux. So
if you want to set SELinux to enforcing after installation, is there a
script to do this, or is it better to just reinstall the node or engine,
rather than trying to work out the individual exceptions?

Please upgrade to latest 3.5 version, and report if this issue still

Sorry for replying to my own post, but it turns out that there should be a
way in WDS to
set separate build directories for Win 7 and 2012, so please disregard that
question.

The build appears to be going well so far, no BSODs.

Thanks very much for the help Ladi!

The crash mentions vioscsi.sys, not viostor.sys, which the second bug
report mentioned. The other thing
is that the crash happens after the install, upon first reboot. The
contents of the Windows guest tools ISO
are copied to the Windows Deployment server from where they are installed.

When I try an alternative install using a Win 7 ISO, rather than PXE boot,
it fails at a different point. This is using
the oVirt Windows guest tools ISO that is in the 3.6.3 repos. When it comes
to installing to disk, I change the CD
to the guest tools ISO and browse to the win7 drivers
(ovirt-tools-setup/drivers/virtio/viostor/w7/amd64/, which has
the viostor drivers), but then the installer complains it cannot install on
the disk, even though it can successfully
create partitons on it (see attached screenshot).

Thanks,

Cam

Re: [ovirt-users] Log4j hostname

2016-05-11 Thread Fabrice Bacchella
You're showing a logstash parsing, extracted from a message formatted using
syslog. All the magic should be in the pattern line
(log4j.appender.myappender.layout.ConversionPattern=[%c] %m%).
And logstash failed to parse the line anyway (see the _grokparsefailure).

Did you try to send native log4j event to logstash, using custom appenders like
my own : https://github.com/fbacchella/ZMQAppender
