Re: [ovirt-users] Migrate from one system to another.

2014-07-07 Thread John Gardeniers
Hi Sven,

Thanks but that's really not a workable solution for us. I'm surprised
there's no cleaner export/import mechanism. This is the only
virtualization system I'm familiar with doesn't have a simple and
straightforward way to export a VM to an external system.

On the subject of support, my comments are related only to my personal
experiences. Also, there's a huge difference between Red Hat and Ovirt -
the Ovirt people care. :)

regards,
John

As written in the bug, the wildfly is not supported, please use upstream[1]

Alon

I had run setup with jboss-home set to the wildfly location (and it
seems to have worked OK).

The problem was post-setup.
When trying to access the admin portal, I got a 503 (service temporarily
unavail.).

However, since then I switched to CentOS and all these issues vanished.
This being said be warned that there are isues with Ovirt/F20

Thanks again

[ovirt-users] Host exists issue -- not in the UI

2014-07-07 Thread Morgan McLean
Hi,

I had a host created, was setting up local storage and then it hung on
failed to initialize. I removed the host and then tried to readd to re do
the whole process, and oVirt says a host with the same name, address exists
etc.

How can I clear this and readd the host? Do I need to clear anything on the
host itself?

Thanks,
Morgan

[ovirt-users] oVirt + gluster with host and hosted VM on different subnets

2014-07-07 Thread Simone Marchioni

Hi,

I'm trying to install oVirt 3.4 + gluster looking at the following guides:

http://community.redhat.com/blog/2014/05/ovirt-3-4-glusterized/
http://community.redhat.com/blog/2014/03/up-and-running-with-ovirt-3-4/

It went smooth until the hosted engine VM configuration: I can reach it
by VNC and the host IP, but I can't configure the VM network in a way it
works.
Probably the problem is the assumption that the three hosts (2 hosts +
the hosted engine) are on the same subnet sharing the same default gateway.

But my server is on OVH with the subnet 94.23.2.0/24 and my failover IPs
are on the subnet 46.105.224.236/30, and my hosted engine need to use
one IP of the last ones.

Anyone installed oVirt in such a configuration and can give me any tip?

Thanks
Simone

[ovirt-users] 64 bits oVirtGuestAgent.exe at 99% CPU

2014-07-07 Thread Angel Docampo

Hello everybody,

This is my very first email here. I've just compiled both 32 and 64 bits
oVirtGuestAgent in order to make SSO from my application to a Windows VM.

32 bits works flawlessly, I can login, logout and lock screen at the moment,
but the 64 bits version cannot login (but can lock screen and logout) and the
worse of all, puts the VM CPU at 99%, making it useless.

Anyone has experieced this? Or give me some guidance to investigate?

Thank you!

[ovirt-users] Snapshot of a Volume/Disk

2014-07-07 Thread Udaya Kiran P
Hi All,

I see OpenStack has 'Create Snapshot' feature for a volume.

What is the equivalent operation in oVirt for a disk?

How does the concept of Image, Snapshot and Volume of OpenStack relate to disks
in oVirt?

Please suggest.

What do you mean by "not like"? If v1 has an IP address attached to it,
you should be able to add this host to an oVirt cluster.

Once the host is added, you can use the GUI to seup more stuff on your host.

I would not recommend this, but you could define a libvirt network per
bridge to make it show in the web gui:

  vdsm-bridge1

Re: [ovirt-users] iSCSI and multipath

2014-07-07 Thread Gary Lloyd
Hi Sven

Thanks

My colleague has already tried to submit the code and I think it was Itamar
we spoke with sometime in Oct/Nov 13.
I think someone decided that the functionality should be driven from the
engine itself rather than having it set on the vdsm nodes.

I will see about putting in for a feature request though.

Cheers

Hi,

the best way to get features into ovirt is to create a "Bug"
titled as "RFE" (request for enhancement) here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=oVirt

if you have any custom vdsm code it would be cool to share
it with the community, so you might even not be responsible
for maintaining it in the future, but that's your decision
to make.

VM live migration works, live _disk_ migration does not.

No, as I earlier pointed out, there is a place you can get the
packages you need for CentOS:

http://jenkins.ovirt.org/view/All/job/qemu-kvm-rhev_create-rpms_el6/lastStableBuild/

You'll have to download- and force install them over the already
installed versions of those packages on all Hosts and then it'll work.

Though, next time there are updates, yum will update from the standard
repos and it just stops working again until you repeat the procedure.

/K

Just add "exclude=qemu-kvm*" in /etc/yum.conf so yum will leave them allone
