[ovirt-users] Windows Server BSOD

2015-08-14 Thread Peter Mayhew
Hi,

During the reboot following Windows Server 2012 R2 installation, the VM crashes
then enters into a boot loop asking me to reinstall Windows. Does anyone have
any ideas that might help troubleshoot the issue? I am using Virtio storage,
but it also occurs using IDE.

The error given: kmode_exception_not_handled

oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.3.1-1.el6
3.10.0-229.11.1.el7.x86_64

[ovirt-users] Power Management for Nested VMs

2015-08-14 Thread Amador Pahim

Hi,

I'm used to have nested hypervisors for test/devel pourposes. The
missing feature when using nested hypervisors is the Power Management
device, keeping my env. useless to test HA, Cluster Policy with PM
control and so on.

This week I had contact with the Minyard's set of patches for qemu,
currently in review, adding an ipmi device to qemu. Here a post with my
first experiments:

Hope you guys enjoy. Feel free to comment or suggest improvements.

Re: [ovirt-users] vdsm keeps removing BOOTPROTO=dhcp from ifcfg-ovirtmgmt

2015-08-14 Thread Tyler Couto
Hi Jakub,

I think I had a similar problem. Vdsm would change the parameters of my
network interface even when I used the ovirt management console to change
it. There are files that vdsm use to configure the ifcfg-* files in
/var/lib/vdsm/persistence/netconf/ovirtmgmt on the virtual server hosts.
Maybe you can try fooling around with those.

Good luck,
Tyler

[ovirt-users] [ANN] oVirt 3.6.0 Second Beta Release is now available for testing

2015-08-14 Thread Sandro Bonazzola
The oVirt Project is pleased to announce the availability of the Second
Beta release of oVirt 3.6 for testing, as of August 14th, 2015.

oVirt is an open source alternative to VMware vSphere, and provides an
excellent KVM management interface for multi-node virtualization.
The First Beta release is available now for Fedora 22,
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7, CentOS Linux 6.7 (or similar) and
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1, CentOS Linux 7.1 (or similar).

The Second Beta release supports Hypervisor Hosts running
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1, CentOS Linux 7.1 (or similar),
Fedora 21 and Fedora 22.
Highly experimental support for Debian 8.1 Jessie has been added too.

This Second Beta release of oVirt 3.6.0 includes numerous bug fixes.
See the release notes [1] for an initial list of the new features and bugs
fixed.

Please refer to release notes [1] for Installation / Upgrade instructions.
New Node ISO and oVirt Live ISO will be available soon as well[2].

Please note that mirrors[3] may need usually one day before being
synchronized.

Please refer to the release notes for known issues in this release.

Re: [ovirt-users] Add RAM to Hosted Engine

2015-08-14 Thread Simon Hallam
Thanks for this, looks like I missed the other reply (didn't seem to get your
email either Robert).

I have made these changes, and looking at the VM itself it is reporting the
correct memory[1].

However, in the browser it is still reporting as the old memory with the old
name (the VM Id matches up with the new VM id that started)[2][3]. Not sure if
it will eventually sync or not?

Cheers,

Simon

The good news is that on 3.6 you'll be able to edit EngineVM
configuration from the web admin interface.
