I read somewhere about clearing out wrong stuff from the UI by manually
editing the database, maybe you can try searching for something like that.
With regards to the VM, I'd probably just delete it, edit the DB and
remove all sorts of references to it and then recover it from backup.
Is there
Also keep in mind that extensive logging in the vm's can seriously
impact your fs performance, so using a central syslogserver is a really
good idea.

Hi,
Read the docs at: https://ovirt.org/documentation/
For installation, in my experience, the most stable solution is to use a
dedicated VM or physical host for running the oVirt engine(management
system):
https://ovirt.org/documentation/installing_ovirt_as_a_standalone_manager_with_local_data
FYI we still have:
Springdale Open Enterprise Linux (http://springdale.math.ias.edu)
Oracle Enterprise Linux (https://www.oracle.com/linux/)
So all is not lost. They are both rebuilds of RHEL from the SRPMS.

Godmorgen Kim,
Not sure this is actually doable. IMO you're trying to make a kind of
not-really-admins.
Others might have better ideas than me, but I'd look into some sort of
provisioning tool where you can use a more fine-grained
access/permissions control.

Hi guys,
I have 3 machines that I'd like to test oVirt/gluster on.
The idea is that I want two of them to be oVirt nodes and the third to
run the oVirt engine.
They all have 8 hdd's, and I'd like to use these in gluster for storing
the vm images. (on all 3 machines)
So,
machine1 is a gluster s

Is this possible?
I have 3 hosts with each four physical interfaces.
On one of them, I have a vlan defined which I'd like to use for
ovirtmgmt. However, after installing the host, it says that the
ovirtmgmt network is missing on it and if I try to assign ovirtmgmt I
can only do it on the physical
Hi Nathanaël,
Yeah, I think I'll have to just use a physical NIC for the ovirtmgmt.
Too bad, it would be nice to be able to separate it from the standard
network.

Hi guys,
We have a small test installation here running around 30 vms on 2
hosts.
oVirt 4.2.5.3
The hosts each have 512 GB memory, and the vms are sized with 4-8 GB
each.
I have noticed that over the last months, the memory usage in the
dashboard has been increasing and is now showing 946.8 GB
x for that.

I agree with Dan, however EMC NetWorker can also backup RHEV.
I'm not that familiar with Storware, but I know that NetWorker can do
pretty much anything you'd like. That includes handling multiple levels
of backup, storage tiering, multiple clones on different media,
archiving and so on...

Oh, I just checked, and Bareos 20 now does agentless oVirt/RHV backups
too. You should probably have a close look at it. It's quite simple to
manage and very, very stable.

Maybe also some questions about what kind of storage people use?
Do they use a dedicated file server or something distributed like gluster?
Storage filesystems that could be used:
XFS
ZFS(FreeBSD/Solaris/Illumos/Linux)
Hammer(DragonflyBSD)
OneFS (EMC Isilon)
GPFS(IBM)
etc.

Hiya,
The API in oVirt engine actually supports creating snapshots etc. for
backups. Check out github for scripts, i.e.:
https://github.com/luisperezmarin/oVirtVMBackup
And there are others.
There is also a commercial solution, Storware vProtect:
