[ovirt-users] Re: Upload Cerfiticate issue
I’ve tried your suggestion and continue to get the same results. Based on continuing investigation I’ve found on the Red Hat Knowledge base a resolution to this issue, the following link references the solution: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/354255. However, I’ve run across another issue, since the creation of a new host within ovirt I’ve not been able to access the internet or reach the host/server remotely. Therefore, I’m unable to try the solution provide via the Red Hat Knowledge Base. Is there a solution to this issue? I’ve recognize the risks of having the host exposed to the internet, how would I keep the OS/RHEL 8.6 & ovirt current? The ovirt server is internal only, could it be my browser configuration? I keep look but I’m not seeing anything. I’ve deleted the certificate and reloaded it several time with change. [ovirt-users] Re: Upload Cerfiticate issue
I started to investigate based on your question regarding a secure connection. From that investigation this what I’ve found: When viewing he certificate the AIA section shows the following: Authority Info (AIA) Location: http://ovirtdl380gen10.cscd.net:80/ovirt-engine/services/pki-resource?resource=ca-certificate=X509-PEM-CA Method: CA Issuers It appears that the certificate is being issue/released on port 80, could this be the reason no connection can be established with the “ovirt imageio” service; since the service is looking for a connection on a secured port such as 443? How can or what should be done to correct this. If this is the issue I suspect that I need to have a certificate that is from port 443 or some other secured connection. Thank you very much for your response and I agree with you based on everything I've read. But below are the steps that I've followed: I greatly appreciate the response, however, following you instructions I’m still not able to upload an ISO via the GUI. When try an upload using the GUI I follow the instruction below: • In the pane on the left hand side of the screen, I select “Storage”. • Select “Disks”. • Where I get the screen “Storage > Disks”. • On the top right hand side of the screen, I select “Upload”. • From the pull down menu I select “Start”. • I choose the file/ISO I want to upload, in this case its “CENTOS-Stream” version 9. • At the bottom of the screen I click the “Test Connection” button. • The following messages appears: Connection to “ovirt-imageio-service” has failed. Ensure the “ovirt certificate” is registered as a valid CA in the browser. • I click/select the “ovirt certificate” which is highlighted in blue on my screen. • It displays the option to save the certificate or view it in the browser. My browser is Firefox 91.9.0. • I save the certificate which I later import into my browser (following your instruction). The certificate is accepted by the browser with no errors encountered. • I then restart the upload process again and “Test Connection”. [ovirt-users] Upload Cerfiticate issue
I’m trying to upload an ISO image in ovirt 4.4.10, It’s been a huge challenge to accomplish this. I read several post regarding this issue, I really don’t have s clear understanding of solution to this issue. My experience has not been very fruitful at all. When I try to perform the upload using the web GUI I get the following message in the status column: “Paused by System“. I’ve been reading for roughly three weeks trying to understand and resolve the issue. There is a tremendous amount of discussion centered around changing certificate file located in the directory “etcpki/ovirt-engine”, however it not clear at all what files need to change. My installation is an out-of-box installation with any certificates beginning generated as part of the install process, I’ve imported the certificate that was generated into my browser/Firefox 91.9.0. Based on what I’ve been reading the solution to my problems is that the certificate does not match the certificate defined in the “imageio-service”, my question is why because it was generated as part of the installation? What files in the “/etc/pki/ovirt-engine” must be changed to get things working. Further should or do I copy the certificate saved from the GUI to files under “/etc/pki/ovirt-engine” directory? I feel like I’m so close after six month of reading and re-installs, what do I do next? I install ovirt on my server remotely connected to the server via ssh, I had no issues performing the install. As I said earlier I'm able to bring up the Admin UI remotely on the same machine that was connected remotely. What really puzzle me is that, I'm able to bring up the UI remotely but not on the server console. They both are using the same release RHEL 8 and Firefox. When I try to bring up the UI on the server console I get the following message: 404 - File or directory not found. I confirmed that all of the installed files are stored on the server, where should I start looking? My Server has four/4 network adapters installed with different IP addresses assigned. My DNS has the domain entered for each network adapter all pointing to the same server. My DNS entry for ovirt is ".1234.net" specified four/4 time with a different IP address for each network adapter. Does the install of ovirt latch to a specific network adapter and IP Address? Could this be a permission issue on the server? I'm using the same account and UID on both server and workstation. What ever it might how do I start the debugging process to create a solution? [ovirt-users] Re: ISO Upload in in Paused by System Status
I viewed the certificate using vi I did see the "Begin Certificate" and "End Certificate" with the certificate in between. I tried adding a new Storage Domain that I wanted to use to store ISO's. It wasn't until then that I found out that I need a certificate. I went to the main page and saw that I that there was a link to the Engine CA Certificate. Click/selected the link and saved the certificate. Then tried to import it into the FireFox browser, which when I started getting the request for a password when trying to import it into the browser. I noticed an issue with the Storage Domain that tried to add, I'm getting message in the event logs that the engine is not able to access to domain. Upon further investigation I put the storage domain in maintenance mode. I've tried to delete the domain or re-activated it with no success so far. This may also be contributing to the problem. So first how do I resolve the issue with the storage domain? I've tried to simply mount it and got the following message: mount: HPDL380Gen10:/var/Shared-Resources/NFS/VM-ISO: can't find in /etc/fstab. I know that things are screwed up, please working me I'm just learning. [ovirt-users] Accessing the oVirt Console Remotely
I've installed ovirt on the my server (HPDL380Gen10) and was able to start the configuration process on the local machine. I'm tried to access the ovirt console remotely via the web however I've had no success. I'm using the same URL that is used locally, but when I execute the URL via my Firefox browser I get the message that it is unable to connect. I've drop the firewall on both the server and client machine as a possible solution but it did not work. Is there something extra that is needed to access the ovirt console remotely? The FQDN is entered into my DNS, however, I did find that during the configuration process that IP was consumed by ovirtmgmt. I was surprised to see that I'm just assuming that its apart of congiruation process.
