In short, I think there's a bug in the way SOGo Connector sends mobile phone
numbers to other CardDAV implementations. Does anyone have similar problems?

You should open a bug report at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/ for SOGo
Connector.

And make sure to include some sample data.
E.g. export 2 addresses on your SabreDAV CardDAV Server.
One synchronized from your phone (not synchronizing with Thunderbird).
Another one changed/added on your SabreDAV CardDAV Server (synchronizing
with Thunderbird).
vCard or LDIF format is preferred here.

At least for on my CentOS6 based SOGo installation
memcached-1.4.7-1.el6.rfx is installed from the rpmforge repositry.

No, all repositories are installed.
When I launch:

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
The program package-cleanup is found in the yum-utils package.

Then:

# yum install memcached

And now? It's weird because it's a fresh installation of SME 8 beta7...

And reading http://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGo%20Installation%20Guide.pdf I see:

Some of the softwares on which SOGo depends are available from the
repository of RPMforge.
To add RPMforge to your packages sources, download and install the

Thanks for finding that - it looks like exactly the bug.

The suggested fix doesn't seem to work in psql. It claims to be still
inside a ' as written. I think maybe it should be

begin transaction;
update sogo_user_profile set c_settings = replace(c_settings, '', '\\');
update sogo_user_profile set c_defaults = replace(c_defaults, '', '\\');

if it's trying to dedouble backslashes, but it looks to me like one
of those columns still contains doubled backslashes, so should I
run it again or not?

I've ABORTed it for now, to see if anyone knows before I maybe make
things worse.

 Just go to

Fill in your desired username and a valid email.
Answer the captcha and press the button.
 That's it.

That's the problem - I can't answer the captcha easily if at all.

unsupported, manually-installed packages both in ZEG and the regular

hello all,

I dealt with sogo slow performance earlier - perhaps you can find in the list.
I deployed sogo at my work around feb last year and is doing well. Although we
have 17000+ users in our cyrus (imap server), only 6000 of those users are now
using sogo. This might change very soon when we will enforce everyone to use
sogo (goodbye to old sq mail).

With the performance issue with the sogo. I also use imapproxy in between imap
server and sogo server. This has certainly help to increase performance at
least for me. Also, seach in mailing list as Sogo Slow performance - this
will give you some idea how to optimize your sogo that we discussed. So what I
did is: increase the number of PREFORK to 70(in /etc/sysconfig/sogo) and you
need minimum 3 postgres connection per sogod which means:

if you increase prefork to 70 then your postgres connection should be 3*70

This has helped at least for me.

There are probably other technique to optimize sogod but at this time this is
good for me:) try doing this and see what happens.

Khapare

Well, I applied all your suggestion, but no luck.

- I installed imaproxy, listening on port 144, and instructed SoGo to connect
to this port. I see it is correctly working
- I preforked sogo to 10 (now there are only some test users)
- I adapted postgres connections likewise

Squirrel does not expand the folder tree, so there is no wait, but sogo

return to Mail, all folders are expanded.
It is not supposed to be? Do I have something wrong?

Platform RHEL6.2, sogo 1.3.14, cyrus-imapd 2.4.14

You are probably experiencing this bug :

http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1767

Do you see parsing errors in your log file?

No, I do not have parsing error. At the bottom I paste some log, it seems to be
fine

Well, now I understand why the performance are bad with hundred of nesting
folders... They are not supposed to explode every time!!! I assumed that the
normal webmail behaviour was that...
In the bug there is a proposed solution, but I don't think this is my case,
what do you think?

Thank you

Something is wrong with your server, because the attachment is sent as
text/html while it should be application/pdf. Is there an entry in

Because text/html can be interpreted as text. And therefore some binary
characters, used by the PDF format, might be stripped between the
sending client and the recipient (via apache - sogo - sendmail -
postfix - imap - mail user agent).

Can you try with Chrome or IE?

Seems as if you'd be right - If I send it using Firefox (12) It gets
corrupted - using IE (9) It gets attached correctly and remains readable
for the recipient.

Why the heck does Firefox change the contents of an attachment uploaded?
If it were only the mime-type that it does not know about it should be
possible to save the file to disk and open it from there isn't it? But
even after saving the file to disk it does not open.

Is there any known config or setting in Firefox that might affect this
behaviour?

Re: [SOGo] SOGo nightly Build destroys attachments [SOLVED!]

2012-04-13 Thread Andreas Balg

Funny thing - Thank you for the fast and competent help:

I was able to Fix it:
In Firefox in Preferences = Applications You can assign the default
actions for mime-types
Typing pdf in the search field resulted in 3(!) different results for
this filetype:

 application/pdf
 binary/octet-stream
 text/html

As it is not possible to delete an entry in this dialog I googled a little:

The mime-types known to firefox are kept in the users profile folder in
an XML-file named mimeTypes.rdf
I removed the respective XML container with the text/html tpye for PDF
and restarted Firefox

Now everything works as expected ;

That was a real quick fix -- thanks Wolfgang

Cheers

Note that Firefox 12 is still in beta stage. Such types of bugs do
occur from time to time.

Why the heck does Firefox change the contents of an attachment
uploaded? If it were only the mime-type that it does not know about
it should be possible to save the file to disk and open it from there
isn't it? But even after saving the file to disk it does not open.
I think it thinks it knows the mimetype, rather than not knowing it
at all. Any attachment with an unknown mimetype should be attached as
application/binary. Here, it probably tries to be too clever.

Is there any known config or setting in Firefox that might affect
this behaviour?

Not that I know of.

Also required a module load since my distribution (CentOS 5.x/SMEServer 8)
didn't load mod_substitute.so by default, so I added to the module load section:

LoadModule substitute-module modules/mod_substitute.so

If you are running SME Server, you'll have to add these lines to template files
and issue a 'signal-event sogo-modify' to expand the templated and restart
sogo/apache.

[SOGo] SOGo Meeting Invites - Outlook 2003 Compatibility

2012-04-13 Thread Aaron Stover (Celestech)

Hi,

Has anyone found a way to configure SOGo to generate Outlook 2003
compatible meeting invites? As of now, the invites appear as inline
attachments for Outlook 2003 users. I'm guessing this is because they
are VCAL 2.0 (ICAL) and Outlook doesn't understand them. The trouble is
that my company interfaces heavily with another company that's still
using 2003. Because of this, I have some users that are resistant to
switching to SOGo.

The solution doesn't need to be pretty as long as any ugliness is
contained to the back end rather than imposed on the users.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Aaron

P.S.: will there be a package for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS in future?

Maybe someone can fund Jeroen's work in Debian?:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=584073

I'd love to see proper packaging for Debian+derivatives, but it's not
going to happen anytime soon, specially the way SOGo relies on
unsupported, manually-installed packages both in ZEG and the regular
releases. This prevents any type of vendor-provided (ie. Canonical, etc.)
commercial support and ties your production systems to Inverse's support
which I was told would change its model but hasn't in a while.

It took a lot more time than I expected, but the packaging of SOGo 1.3
suitable for upload to Debian is almost done. The current source
packages can be found on github (https://github.com/dekkers/sogo-debian
https://github.com/dekkers/sope-debian and
https://github.com/dekkers/json-framework). There are still a lot of
smaller things to fixup before an upload can happen and I'm currently
too busy with other things. My target is to get SOGo 1.3 in wheezy
however, so I will try to find the time to get the stuff ready for
upload somewhere this month.

With regards to funding, I will probably setup a donation page on my
site/add a flattr thingie/etc. so people can donate if they like the
work I do. But I'm currently not really planning anything else than
uploading 1.3 to debian unstable/testing and backporting it to squeeze
when it doesn't have problems in testing for a while. This should mean
that it also goes automatically in Ubuntu with the next sync with
Debian, but I don't use Ubuntu on any of my servers so I'm personally
not that interested in Ubuntu packages. But I'm self-employed, so if
people are willing to pay I'm also willing to work on things I'm not
directly interested in. :)

With regards to 2.0, I think that's still too volatile to go into a
Debian stable release so I won't be working on any upload of that
anytime soon. If you want to use 2.0 you can best use the Inverse
packages. When wheezy gets released 2.0 will also have stabilised and
I'll probably start looking at uploading 2.0 for wheezy+1 and
providing 2.0 backports for wheezy.

Kind regards,

Jeroen Dekkers
