Hello,
I am trying to use Sogo with Samba backend. I've created a user with
samba-tool and it works for authentication.
But samba-tool does not have options to set the mail address and the
common name. I've changed those settings using ldapmodify, but is this
really the good way to do this?

sogo-tool doesn't have this feature.
Doing the following SQL request will tell you:
select distinct(c_path2) from sogo_folder_info;

I always have issue with running 2 cron tasks every minute, hope you guys can
help me out.
According to SOGo installation guide, we need 2 cron jobs:
1) Session cleanup - runs every minute
* * * * * /usr/sbin/sogo-tool expire-sessions 60
2) Email alarms - runs every minut
