because each webmail has it way to store filter and generate the sieve filter

Re: [SOGo] LDAP Addressbook vs SOGo Addressbook

2014-09-17 Thread ABBAS Alain

Hello
You can access to the addressbook by a mount point in DAVFS (see davefs package)
After you see all vcard as files . It will be easy to convert the LDIF file in
VCARDS or
to read LDAP and write on the FS. We process like that for addressbook
migrations

 Hello again,

I've been playing with the default LDAP Addressbook and I've found some problems
with it:

- I can't copy contacts to other addressbooks in Thunderbird (it works on the
Web inteface)

- Contact photos are not shown on LDAP addressbooks neither on the web or on the
web interface (I guess that is bug http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=747)

- It is not possible to show the LDAP entries when looking at the addressbook
(that one is http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=438)

As my LDAP is not as big (I have 120 active users, more or less) I dumped my
LDAP directory from Roundcube and loaded into a SOGo Addressbook and the
previous problems dissapear (well, I still need to autosubscribe my users to
that Addressbook, but apart from that it works).

Looking at that I guess my best option is to sync my LDAP with the SOGo
Addressbook, but I've searched a little for a tool to do that and I have not
found one, so my question is... is there any utility to do that with SOGo or
should I learn about CardDAV and code it myself? If I should do it myself, any
library recommendations with a python interface? (I already have python scripts
to
work against my LDAP server, so using the same language is the best option if
its has to be a new development)

Thanks in advance,

Sergio.

Re: [SOGo] Production Server Specification

2014-07-02 Thread ABBAS Alain

For example i run 60 users with 4G of RAM and a normal CPU ( this case is on
Vmware)
For 60 user 4GO is enough if you have not the graphical interface on your
server wit a Xeon CPU and SATA 7200rpm
we are with postgresql as database, openldap for the authentication cyrus-imap,
and postfix.
If your server freeze is more a hardware problem than a software.
Put a distribution 64bits the performances are much better.
You have to tune in /etc/default/sogo the number of processes who wait
connexion.

Re: [SOGo] Shared SMTP domain with Zimbra

Hello yes it is possible but depends of your configuration
The prerequise is on the source user (ldap or others) you have an attribute for
the host who has  the user   account (homeserver ... )
In this case all mail from external come to this serveur (mail1)
in this server you say where is the account with the attribute (mail1 or mail2
) ...
The mail will be retransmitted to the right server
On the other server configure your postfix to reroute the unknow users mails on
the mail1 server.

The recipient team member has multiple email addresses, so they received
on a different account than the one which is connected to their
calendar. Yet, since their mail is received/collected by a central
server, it all ends up at the one account.

The recipient was unable to accept the appointment. The error message
was not helpful.

It occurred to me that a solution may be a setting which allows email
aliases to be recorded so that events processed using any of the listed
email accounts are placed in the primary email address's calendar.

Is this possible?

It seems a useful addition. I can't be the only person who is dealing
with clients who have multiple email addresses.

Your thoughts?

Hello,

As we are in the process of migrating from Exchange to SOGo I want to know the

The receptionist must be able to plan a task for the technical department.

I am now using the latest ZEG version of SOGo. We use the webinterface with
firefox on Debian 7.3.

I got as far as being able to see the tasklist from sogo2 user in the window

But when I create a task I am only able to select the personal calender from

I know in Exchange you have to give permission to be able to do this but I do

Re: [SOGo] Feature request: central signature distribution

I'd like to discuss a feature request regarding a central mail-signature
distribution for SOGo web interface, Thunderbird (with SOGo Integrator) and
Outlook.
Which Outlook feature is support the getting signatures from a server?
Some people may ask, why would you do that?
Short answer: The uniform appearance is a matter of Corporate Identity, which
is very important for many companies. And it simplifies admins job, too.
Some companies even use mail signatures for advertisement or announcements
(e.g. new products, exhibitions, ...).
In many countries companies are forced by law that their e-mails and their
business letters contain legal information about the company like CEO, members
of the board, address, tax-ID, Commercial Register Number, legal entity number
and so on.
Therefore a central management is necessary.
I don't think so... Is Exchange support it?
What will about the attached mailboxes, on behalf functions, etc. ? When we
send any email in name of the other people, which signature will we need to use?
To explain how this could work, let me introduce the discontinued freeware
Outlook Signature:
Outlook Signature is an Windows executable which is executed by the
user-logon-script.
It takes templates, fills in custom user data (name, phone nr., mail address,
job title, ...) and places the signature files in the appropriate location
where Outlook expects them. Even if the user is allowed to change the
signatures, they will get overwritten by the logon script at next boot.
See above.
Or I didn't understand this mail...

Re: [SOGo] Shared mailboxes / folder performance

2014-01-22 Thread ABBAS Alain

Hello
you have 2 choices for Imap server
-Cyrus-imap
-dovecot

For our part we use cyrus-imap and we dont have any performances problems even
with big configs.
You have to tune it and to read about how to. There are some nice how to about
architecture and tuning.
Thunderbird support well big mailboxes (some of my clients have mailboxes
arround 20 giga of size without
any problems.

Sogo brings just the groupware part (calendars/tasks/contacts sharing) and it
needs :
1 MTA (postfix, exim ...)
1 Database for datas (postgresql, mysql ...)
1 Database for users (Openldap, samba4, dir386, postgresql,mysql )
1 Imap/Pop Server (cyrus-imap, dovecot .)

And those things must work and be operationnal before to add Sogo

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with SOGo, but with your IMAP server.
SOGo will only display your emails.
Alle privileges are stored and evaluated on your IMAP server.
For SOGo it doesn't matter, if email folders are shared or not.
Only your IMAP server has to do something, in order to provide the
corresponding shared folders and emails to your account too.

As an aside, SOGo only fetches the email list of a folder in chunks,
therefore you normally don't have all 2 million entries in your browser.

 Kind regards,
 Christian Mack

Which IMAP server is used for SOGo. Is it possible to use, the IMAP
 server of your own choice?
How can I do a fulltext search through the 2 million mails? Also, this
should be work with a desktop client like Thunderbird.

 Hi all

We recently improved how to upload attachments to an email message in the
Webmail module of SOGo.

- the list of attachments is now displayed under the mail headers;
- upload starts immediately and shows a progress indicator;
- you can attach multiple attachments at the same time;
- you can drag and drop your files from your desktop to the mail editor window
(IE requires version 10 or 11);
- you can now view/download the attachments of your draft from the mail editor.

Also, when viewing a message, there’s now a list of all mail attachments and an
option to download all the files.

Our demo instance is running the latest code, so you can try it now :

Comments are welcomed!

  Hi there SOGo community,

I'm trying to understand calendar administration a little better.

As an administrator able to change ACLs, etc., my goal is to assign other
users' calendars to new users (or better yet, to assign certain users'
calendars based on LDAP group membership).  Also, to be able to do this when
they need my help to do so.  So, I am trying to understand the functionality of
SOGo's CalDAV and calendar systems.

I have noticed a couple things that I am unable to find out good information on.

What exactly does synchronize and the tag do in a user's calendar
properties?  Is this RFC definition?  What does it affect if I choose not to
synchronize, and why is the default calendar always synchronized?

Also, when I am administrating ACLs, what does it specifically mean to
subscribe a user?  On the user's side, I cannot find a ny effec t one way or
another.  And why is it that I cannot unsubscribe users?

It would be very nice as an administrator to subscribe a user to someone else's
calendar, and to have that calendar appear automatically in the first
device/app they configure.  Regardless, I love the CalDAV functionality.

Thank you again.

helloThe bindDn and the bindpasswoard are required if :1) your LDAP doesn t accept anonymous request (you can add an ACL to accept anonymous request from the 127.0.0.1) in this case the DN should be found.2) Tte DN must be searched if you have a multi level LDAP organisation (example with some ou or o )in this case the auth make a first search to search the dn and after bind with this DN.RegardsAlainLe Mardi 13 Aot 2013 04:00 CEST, (HT) Simon Walter simon.wal...@hokkaidotracks.com a crit:On 08/13/2013 10:15 AM, (HT) Simon Walter wrote: Is it possible to provide the hash value here? Hi Alain,

Your signature is not valid and not really HTML.

The first point, the '--' sign. Please use 3 characters, two dash and
  one space: '-- ' ;)
The second: the signature part above seems HTML, but it isn't. In mail
  source there is the following:

  lt;htmlgt; lt;headgt; lt;meta http-equiv=quot;content-typequot;
  content=quot

Third - The HTML code ah many errors: head still opened, the value
of content variable quote is still opened...

 ah==has.
 head == meta
 And many more :)

  And many more...

So, I don't wondering, if some email clients not supported that. :)

BTW inline image: if in the sogo webmail you write an HTML mail, and
dnd a picture in the mail, thunderbird will show it correctly.

It will simply not show attachments that you could have included in the mail you sent.O
ne workaround we could have in SOGo for the Outlook bug is upon sending, SOGo could transform the based64 encoded image from the img tag into a MIME part and include it in the email, and add a CID reference.Thanks,-- Ludovic Marcotte lmarco...@inverse.ca :: +1.514.755.3630 :: http://inverse.ca Inverse inc. :: Leaders behind SOGo (http://sogo.nu) and PacketFence (http://packetfence.org)

I am pretty sure it does not work at all current thunderbird version 17 and sogo connector plug in.On Jun 19, 2013 1:18 AM, Ben bugrepor...@vescentphotonics.com wrote:Im getting tired of Thunderbird / Lightning as being, well, old and clunky and lightning having annoying bugs (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=865726 for example). Has anyone tried using emClient (http://www.emclient.com/)? I tried it briefly and it seems to handle out of the box calendar / addressbook (ldap caldav), freebusy, and of course email. Im curious what experiences others have had with it. Has anyone switched to it from Thunderbird?emClient is free for home use, but the pro version isnt. They do have pretty aggressive volume pricing so it isnt too bad for a larger deployment.Thanks,Ben--users@sogo.nuhttps://inverse.ca/sogo/lists--Alain AbbasDirecteur03 83 18 02 70--Alain AbbasDirecteur03 83 18 02 70

Re: Re: [SOGo] Sogo Web Address

2013-06-12 Thread ABBAS Alain
Helloyou could do that by different way :1) you have an apache who listen on port 443 on your server .On your root server dir just put an index.php with a redirect inside?header(Location: https//yourserver:1234/SOGo);?the request will be redirected by the browser2) or with the reverse proxy you installed (apache with SOGo.conf)a thing like that :VirtualHost 0.0.0.0:443
  ServerName webmail.yourserver.com
  SSLEngine On
  ProxyRequests Off
  SetEnv proxy-nokeepalive 1
  ProxyPreserveHost On
  ProxyPassInterpolateEnv On
ProxyPass / https://webmail.yourserver.com:1234/SOGo interpolate ...in this case the resquest will be redirected by the apache the port will be not know from the browserThis is more an apache stuff than SOGo itself :)Le Mercredi 12 Juin 2013 19:03 CEST, Ian J. ianjamesv...@icefire.eu a crit:Hi,I think you misunderstood my meaning.
