Re: [SOGo] Why not move from Funambol to Z-Push? Many features will be obtained.

2012-01-25 Thread Martin Lehmann
But you still have the big monster Funambol-Server with all its problems
and heavy resource requirements which also must be maintained by the
admins besides SOGo, Samba4, ...

And in my opinion Funambol is to buggy and makes to many problems.
ActiveSync on top of a buggy system doesn't make it better. I'd prefer
directly use ActiveSync via Z-Push on top of the very well working
Caldav/Carddav.

I have also seen this ActiveSync implementation. Maybe it's better than

Your iCal problem is related to this bug:

Maybe you could try the Apache Vhost configuration file from the bug

Dear all,

We have juste updated to SOGo 1.3.11 our server and the Mac systems to
Mac OS 10.7.2 with iCal 5.0.1 (1547.4).

Since then, we have the following troubles:

- shared agendas do not appear anymore within iCal, (these feature
works fine with iCal 4.0.4 (1395.7) and Mac OS 10.6.8),

- delegation cannot be managed with iCal (this must be done through the
SOGo web interface),

- with iCal 4.0.4, the users cannot be found (LDAP server
authentication), but with iCal 5.0.1 it says the server cannot delegate at all,

- it takes a very long time to identify each time through the
certificate,

We tried various options on the SOGo preference files, but this new
version of iCal does not seem to share its data with the SOGo server. It works
smoothly under iOS 5.0.1, so it is not a problem from SOGo. Any idea of what
could be done?

Yes, you can use constraints for this. See documentation.

Example:

ModulesConstraints = {
Calendar = {

Contacts = {

};
Mail = {
attr3 = 1;
};
};

displayName = Resourcen;
hostname = 127.0.0.1;
id = resourcen;
isAddressBook = YES;
port = 389;
 }

I tried also with KindFieldName = kind as I'm using the objectclass
CalendarResource from my own calresource.schema.

This is the ldiff of my resource audioraum:
# Entry 1: uid=audioraum,ou=resources,dc=my-company,dc=de...

objectclass: organizationalPerson
objectclass: person
objectclass: top
objectclass: CalendarResource
sn: audioraum
uid: audioraum
vcarduid: audioraum

I'm running the latest nightlies.

Do you see any misconfiguration which can lead to the not working resources?

Thx,

This works right now only over LDAP and you can identify resources

 b- a specific LDAP attribute (specified by the KindFieldName

Then, you must also set how many simultaneous bookings are allowed for

If SOGo can't determine it's a resource, the code will work just like

possible:

1- automatically accept the invitation for the resource if there's no

2- prevent save operations if there's a conflict (ie., someone tries

MultipleBookingsFieldName = multiplebook;
UIDFieldName = uid;
baseDN = dc=inverse,dc=ca;

See:

You've only to replace libmemcached in libmemcached.spec through
libmemcached3 or sometheing simular for version 0.3 and rebuild the SRPMS.

 You could try running: package-cleanup --problems

Re: [SOGo] Funambol-SyncML+Android

2011-01-04 Thread Martin Lehmann

Hi André,

I tested with the egroupware-fixed version and all seems to work very
well so far.

A really cool feature is support for tasks. It's the 1st release for
SyncML which supports tasks.
You have to install the Astrid task-application from market und then the
Funambol client.

Calendars seem to be sometimes a problem as many manufacturers use there
own calendar implementation and not the vanilla calendar from Android. I
use the Samsung calendar with my mobile and Funambol-Sync without any
problems. Maybe you've a HTC or another device which has problems? You
could have a look in the Discussions section of the Funambol-Sync.

This is a free alternative for the commercial SyncML-Client from

'CALDAV_PORT'   = '443',
'CALDAV_PATH'   = '/SOGo/dav/%u/Calendar/personal/'

Is it possible to use SSL (443) for the Caldav-port or isn't it
supported? I can't test with unencrypted port 80.

2010-10-19 Thread Martin Lehmann

 Now it does ;-)

I don't know since when it works but today I found one problem which
caused the editing problem:

The enabled email-reminder in Google is the problem!!!

Details:
===
I've both email- and alarm-reminders enabled in my Google calendar by
default for new events. If both reminders (alarm+mail) are enabled you
can't edit the event by double click on the event. You can enter by
double click but if you change something you can click on save and
exit and nothing happens! The event isn't saved.

Now, delete the email-reminder for this event (the alarm-reminder can be
used!) and click on save and exit and all works as it should.

Another detail:
=
If you edit the event directly with a simple click on the event you can
only edit the subject (and not description or place) but this works
also with email-reminders enabled!

Very strange!

Now, that I know the problem I can live with it but that's not a very
nice solution.

[SOGo] Nasty bug in actual Invers-Lightning 1.0b2.103i

2010-10-19 Thread Martin Lehmann

 Hi,

the actual stable and nightly version of Invers-Lightning 1.0b2.103i has
a very nasty bug. Only tested with the win32-version.

Editing/Creating reminders isn't possible anymore. If you create an
alarm reminder. This reminder isn't saved!
If you edit an existing alarm reminder this reminder is deleted! You can
click on save but if you close the editing dialog you see that the alarm
is lost.

This problem is only in the actual Invers-Lightning!

I have a nightly version 1.02b.102i from 16. Oct 2010 which I use now.
This version works as it should.

Setting alarms in webinterface also works as it should.

Please fix this bug.

2010-09-08 Thread Martin Lehmann

 Hi Dominique,

I've also problems with SOGo in combination with other calendaring
systems like Google. I reported this bug months ago with the 1st
pre-release of plugins or TB3.x but it still seems to exist.

The problems exists if you use the SOGo-Connector plugin. If you only
use TB3.x and Lightning STD there's no problem.

One way to get it running with TB3.1 is to enable Caching for the
Google calendar. I think it's a problem introduced through the SOGo
plugins which seem to require caching of the calendars even of foreign
calendars. As I remember right I had to play a little bit, delete old
profile and restart a few times but than it worked.

Now I'm running TB3.1.3 with Lightning Invers, SOGo Connector and SOGo
Integrator (all from nightlies). Running only SOGo Connector was to
troublesome as it doesn't work good with Lightning STD.

The only problem with this solutions is that the Google calendar is
marked read-only nearly after every reboot and you've to edit calendar
properties if you want to add/change events in it.

Hope that helps.

Martin

But as mentioned I had to play a little bit to get Google calendar

 HTTP-Authz is only useful for authentication of sogo users but that's
all! I also already use it for authentication.

But you can't use it for constraints! And constraints might be useful in

To be honest, I don't think it's a good idea for the SOGo team to
spend time on developing something that is already well done in the
front-end server, and very powerful. Besides, most of the sysadmins
already know how to do that within Apache. Eventually, this could be
suggested in the SOGo user manual.

[SOGo] Lightning Invers 3.1 doesn't work with Google

2010-07-30 Thread Martin Lehmann
 This is a problem of the lightning invers extension and not with
lightning itself.

Google calendars work great with lightning. But if I a deinstall
lightning and replace it with the invers edition no events aren't shown
anymore.

I deleted the caches but that doesn't solve the problem.

After I create a new google event in TB the other google events are
shown suddenly. But you can't edit any google event even the newly
created can't be edited. This is only with lightning invers!

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 3.1 support!

2010-07-30 Thread Martin Lehmann

 Latest nightlies doesn't solve the problem for me.

This is what worked for me:
- Remove all invers plugins, restart TB, install lightning 1.0b2
- The problem remains but now you can delete ALL calendars
- After deleting the calendars, close TB and remove cache.sqlite
- Start TB reinstall ALL invers plugins (not only lightning)
- Restart

After this procedure the problem was solved in my installation.

I updated from TB2-TB3.1 maybe that was part of the problem but I
didn't want to re-enter all settings and account data.

Hope that fixes your problem.

I don't know if its related but we just worked-around a bug in our

[SOGo] Re: Lightning Invers 3.1 doesn't work with Google

2010-07-30 Thread Martin Lehmann
 Ok, now I can edit the event. I didn't change anything only restarted
TB a few times.

But if you delete the cache.sqlite you don't see any google event. They
aren't reloaded correctly with inverse lightning.

If you then add a new google event the other google events are suddenly
visible. After restart of TB you don't see any google events anymore!

Best results I get if I enable CACHE for google calendars. This seems to
be a must if you use lightning invers with any other calendars.

I think the best way is to use the normal lightning and add all
calendars (sogo and others) by hand. It's not as nice as SOGo's solution
but it works.

Did you set your sync source values correctly in the sync client on

Nothing. Lightning is currently broken. It's really just SOGo Connector that

Lightning isn't broken. It works perfectly well without SOGo Connector.

Even SOGo Connector works quite good but only with Windows (as I wrote a

With SOGo Connector: See error logs in my last mail!

Remote addressbooks aren't working in no way. After adding the URL I

Re: [SOGo] Upcoming release, future and Outlook compatibility

2010-06-15 Thread Martin Lehmann

Hello,

there're some great new feature. Especially the Exchange (ActiveSync
over Air) support so every mobile can directly use its integrated
exchange support to sync events. Maybe this works also better than Funambol.

Another nice feature is the enhanced group support. But there is
especially one missing feature - that's necessary for every company -
which is group calendars. As far as I know there's also a feature
request for this in the bug tracker.

There are 2 points which I think are important:
1.) Fully working funambol sync. By now, alarms (reminders) aren't
synced correctly which seems to be a problem of absolute and relative
alarm times. These should be correctly converted while syncing.
Another feature which worked previously are photos. They were correctly
synced and remained as vcard. But now they are stripped while syncing
but photos are a feature which every modern calendar supports.
2.) Better mail support in the webfrontend: There are many options
greyed-out which should be implemented but aren't working so far e.g.
delete selected messages or Marks, you can't mark messages as
read, unread, !
3.) Missing support for Thunderbird 3. But I think this will be one of
the top-most thinks of the developers list ;-)

Great work and I'm hopefully looking forward to the upcoming releases.

Greetz,
Martin

Ludovic Marcotte schrieb:

Hello,

As some of you might have seen, we're getting close to a new SOGo
release - v1.3.0. So far, it features the following enhancements :

   * added support for the tentative status in the invitation responses
   * inviting a group of contacts is now possible, where each contact
will be extracted when the group is resolved

   * added support for modifying the role of the meeting participants
   * attendees having an RSVP set to FALSE or empty will no longer
need/be able to respond to invitations
   * added the ability to specify which calendar is taken into account
when retrieving a user's freebusy
   * added the ability to publish resources to unauthenticated
(anonymous) users, via the /SOGo/dav/public url
   * we now provide ICS and XML version of a user's personal calendars
when accessed from his own Calendar base collection
   * events are now displayed with the coloured stripe representing
their category, if one is defined in the preferences
   * the event location is now displayed in the calendar view when
defined properly
   * added a caching mechanism for freebusy requests, in order to
accelerate the display
   * added the ability to specify a time range when requesting a time
slot suggestion

   * added a Ukrainian translation
   * updated the Czeck translation

and we still have some work to complete prior to the release:

http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/roadmap_page.php

Also, for more than a year, we've been following closely the
OpenChange project (http://www.openchange.org). As you can read from
the website, it takes a different approach by providing an open source
implementation of the Microsoft Exchange Protocol. The OpenChange
project made great progress lately and it's now the right time to
start looking at adding a SOGo provider for it.

The SOGo provider would allow any Outlook clients to talk directly to
OpenChange (without any additional plugins, since it would think it
talks directly to an Exchange server) which would then use SOGo's
business logic to handle the rest. Outlook users would then be able to
fully collaborate with there SOGo, Mozilla Thunderbird/Lightning,
Apple iCal and other peers.

We've started discussions with the OpenChange team to deliver a PoC as
soon as we can so stay tuned for progress on this.

As usual, your input is appreciated.

Regards,

 I don't want to FORCE all people in our company to move there personal
 calendars and addressbooks to the server. It should be their choice!

 Maybe somebody wants to use only the company- and group-calendars from
 the server and would like to hold there personal calendar on its own PC.

 I think it is a really neat feature to be able to perform this address
 book conversion (my jaw dropped the first time I installed Integrator
 and saw it perform it's magic), but, like Martin, it's a little scary
 that you *have* to do this. Not only that, Thunderbird typically
 maintains a 'Collected Addresses' address book that automatically
 saves addresses you manually type into an email. This functionality is
 important to mimic the similar Outlook feature. It is disrupted after
 the conversion as when you look into the 'Composition/Addressing'
 option in Preferences, the 'Automatically add outgoing e-mail
 addresses to my:' option is blank and cannot be set. I suspect this is
 because the feature only works with local address books (I wouldn't
 want these addresses in my SOGo addressbook anyway).

 Of course you can create a local address book after the Integrator
 install and then go into the prefs.js file and manually fill-in the
 local address book name, but this is clearly not the best user
 experience.

 Without removing the feature, perhaps there is a way to offer the
 'option' to do the addressbook conversion?
