Dear community users,

In the upcoming days, we will officially transfer the ownership of
the SOGo open source project to Alinto. There will be two major
impacts to this transfer:

- Members of this mailing list will need to resubscribe. The mailing
list address won't change (users@sogo.nu), but the infrastructure
will moved to a new server (https://mailing.sogo.nu/) with no data
migration.

<https://mailing.sogo.nu/> seems up and accepts registrations for
announce and user.

But what about the archives of the old mailinglist?

And what about i...@sogo.nu?

- Binary packages of SOGo and SOPE will be available from a different
URL (https://packages.sogo.nu). The installation instructions on the
Website will be updated accordingly.

[cut]

Is up and running too.
I first didn't see, that the path in the URL has changed too, not just
the server :-)

Instructions seem correct in the FAQ.

Make sure, the client computer has enough RAM.
Sorting and threading is done on the client side, not the server.

The only workaround is to use folders and moving emails into those.

In this case the account is near 30G in size and it takes about 1min to

Re: [SOGo] Which database schema for SOGo 5.7?

2022-08-08 Thread Christian Mack

Hello

We use 9 table setup since multiple years.
The answer as usually is "it depends" :-)

Without 9 table layout, you have multiple tables per user.
That leads to a lot of tables when you have a lot of users.
Depending on your database management system (dbms) that can lead to
problems in itself.
The pro side is, that you can manipulate each users date easier in the
database itself, without impacting other users.

Our main issue was dumping sogo for backups.
As the dbms has to dump all table create statements and the content, it
took considerably longer and produced a lot more output than necessary.

Also caching in the dbms is better when using 9 table layout.

So in short:
If you have not many users, it doesn't matter at all.
If you have many users (>1000) 9 Table is the way to go.

As for the script.
It should still work, but afterwards you have to run all post Version
3.0.0 scripts too.

Currently those are:
sql-update-3.2.10_to_4.0.0.sh or sql-update-3.2.10_to_4.0.0-mysql.sh
sql-update-5.5.1_to_5.6.0.sh

We switched to 9 table layout by using the sogo-tool backup and
sogo-tool restore.

That resulted in our setup in a shorter downtime.
Your mileage may vary.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Hi,

the documentation [1] mentions the possibility of using a database
schema with a total of 9 tables. That would require to add the following
additional parameters to to /etc/sogo/sogo.conf:

- OCSStoreURL
- OCSAclURL
- OCSCacheFolderUR

Would you suggest to use that schema?
What are your experience in terms of performance?
Is a migration still possible / advisable using
`/usr/share/doc/sogo/sql-update-3.0.0-to-combined*.sh`?

there will be only the first Calendar-Entry.. everything else doesnt come up in

Which is correct.
You have to write each contact or event on its own file into the

Re: [SOGo] SOGO + Dovecot + encryption

2022-07-28 Thread Christian Mack

Hello

Warning, this is a bit long :-)

First you have to grasp the principle of authentication sources.
Authentication sources are Files or databases or LDAP/ActiveDirectory
servers providing information used to authenticate an user.
Usually they contain a unique identifier commonly called "user name" and
some sort to authenticate like password and/or certificate and/or TOTP
secret.
They also store additional information used to grant access privileges
for that user on a per service base.

Dovecot and SOGo are two distinct services.
They have nothing in common, and don't know anything about each other.
That is fine, as they provide their services via interfaces which are
standardized internationally.

SOGo is a user interface provides via HTTP or (better) HTTPS.
It stores user provided information like sessions, settings, calendars +
events and address books + address cards in a relational database.
It uses internally e.g. IMAP in order to access postboxes of users on
any IMAP capable postbox server.

Dovecot is such an IMAP capable postbox server.

In your scenario you want to use your SOGo service only with your
dovecot service.

Therefore they have to use the same authentication source.
But they need different additional information from that authentication
source, in order to provide their service.

You use a MySQL database as authentication source.
That has to provide the informations for both services.
You have to set that information for every user in that database, before
that user can login to either service.

When that information is provided, then the user can successfully login
to SOGo.
SOGo will initialize the informations for that user in SOGo, like create
its personal calendar and adress book and store its initial settings.
Then it also will contact the configured IMAP server, and will
authenticate to it with the given credentials.

As That IMAP server is your dovecot, and they share the same
authentication source, the user will login successfully the first time
into dovecot.
dovecot will then initiate the postbox of that user with the information
given to it from the authentication source and its configuration.

In order to access the matching information from the "storage_keys"
database, there has to be a connetcion between the user in the
authentication source "users" Table and the user_id.

Hope that helps a bit.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Am 27.07.22 um 16:32 schrieb Serveria Support (supp...@serveria.com):

Hey guys,

I'm looking to setup a mail server with encrypted storage. I'm planning
to use Dovecot mailserver + crypt or trees plugin for per-user
encryption + SOGO for webmail/groupware. Encryption plugins need to
store some additional data like password hash algo, salt etc. (see
example scheme below) in SQL:

CREATE TABLE `storage_keys` (
   `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
   `enabled` tinyint(4) DEFAULT '1',
   `version` tinyint(4) DEFAULT '1',
   `public_key` text,
   `pwhash_algo` tinyint(4) DEFAULT '1',
   `pwhash_opslimit` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,
   `pwhash_memlimit` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,
   `pwhash_salt` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL,
   `sk_nonce` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL,
   `locked_secretbox` text,
   `user_id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,
   PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT DEFAULT

How can I make it work with SOGO? So far, at a first glance, there's a
table named 'users' in SOGO db
which contains usernames, passwords etc of SOGO users. However, it's not
very clear how Dovecot is communicating with SOGO?
Dovecot users = SOGO users? Or SOGO grabs Dovecot users and copies them
into this 'users' table?
Perhaps someone here can guide me on how it works and how to connect
SOGO with Dovecot crypt plugins properly?

Paul

Re: [SOGo] MailList as group ?

2022-07-21 Thread Christian Mack

Hello

As your ldap group entry is of objectClass mailList already, try to set
that in sogo.conf in SOGoUserSources of the corresponding entry with:

GroupObjectClasses = (
"mailList",
"group",
"groupofnames",
"groupofuniquenames",
"posixgroup"
);

I assumed this was set already, as it worked before.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

/objectClass: groupOfNames/

or

objectClass: ///groupOfUniqueNames/

Have you other ideas before I'll rollback to previous SOGo version ?

Hi Christian,

I think the problem in this case is why it worked before, but not
after upgraded SOGo to the latest release.
No LDAP schema / data changes applied to mailing list accounts during
iRedMail upgrade, hence SOGo should work too.

Have you set the following option?

Hello

As I understand it, both text files you provided per email are already

Could you open a bug report at https://sogo.nu/bugs and upload the

That way, we can reproduce the problem.

Wrong, I meant to say the same. The original file has the ANSI encoding,
if it is sent by mail, then it already comes in a different encoding,
even if it is packed into a zip archive.

Re: [SOGo] Problem with sogo

2022-07-21 Thread Christian Mack

Hello

Those 2 text files are both in the same character set and both transfere
encoded by "quoted-printable".

So SOGo does not alter them.

I assume one of the old 8-bit cyryllic character sets CP866 or
windows-1251 or ISO-8859-5 or KOI8-R is used?

So you have to view those files in an text viewer/editor, which
supports that 8-bit character set.
SOGo can not guess which one that could be, as there are a lot of 8-bit
character sets out there and in the text file is no hint which one was used.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Re: [SOGo] CardDAV Sync List/Group Thunderbird Cardbook

2022-07-18 Thread Christian Mack

Hello

That is correct.
There is a open enhancement request bug for that in the bugtracker for
quite some time.

In short:
vCard version 4.0 has to be implemented in SOGo for that.
Address lists weren't a thing before that, therefore SOGo invented it's
own implementation.

That obviously isn't compatible to anything else.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

END:VCARD

Conclusion:

The created lists in Thunderbird Cardbook are shown in the SOGo
Webmailer as "contact" not as list and don´t work there.

The created lists in SOGo Webmailer are not shown in Thunderbird
Cardbook at all.

Is it possible for newly created calendars to also have a pretty URL?
They have some kind of UUID instead of the name (like "personal" in
above example)

No, personal is a special one.
All other calendars are identified by GUID, which is per definition
globally unique.
But that is not a problem, as you can name a subscription how ever you
like afer subscribing in every client I know.

That's not a general CardDAV issue. There is only limited support for
MacOS / iOS clients. Only the personal addressbook seems to work as far as
I remember. We also had an issue open regarding this topic, the limitations
seems to be on Apples side. Unfurtunately I can't give you any official
source for this since we only got the feedback within the paid support
issue tracker. Francis Lachapelle might elaborate on this.

Hi,

Those vacation messages are getting deactivated by sogo-tool.
I didn't find a proper documentation on how that should work.
Is there any documentation bit i can read or is somebody able to explain what
it's supposed to do?
Maybe a better hint in the webui would be good.

Cheers and thanks
Juergen

If you set start and end dates and start and end times, then it will
activate vacation messages on dates between start and end date
inclusively, on and after start time on each day.
And it will deactivate vacation messages on dates between start and end
dates after endtime on each day.

If you only set start time without end time and without start or end
date, then it will activate vacation messages on and after that time on
every day.
This also means, it will deactivate vacation messages at 00:00 o'clock
every day.

If you only set an end time, then vacation messages will be enabled at
00:00 o'clock and disabled at the set end time every day.

subscribe to this calendar from other user/s.

When I login as other user and under Subscriptions I click the plus icon
and search for general account email address, I see the calendar that I
created earlier but when I clicked on SUBSCRIBE I get error: You cannot
(un)subscribe to a folder that you own!
I must say that I do not understand at all what this error even means.
User that is trying to subscribe does not own this calendar (or does
because he is Authenticated User and has View rights??). Either way this
error does not help me to understand anything and after googling for a
while there is nothing similar I could find.
I tried switching rights and creating other calendars but it is same
every time. If I specify user directly under sharing options and I
choose subscribe checkbox then calendar will appear in target user SOGo
calendar list and he is able to interact with it but I need to setup
this way around 10 calendars for 50 people (most of which should be read
only) and specifying each one manually for every calendar is not how I
would like to do things and would create admin nightmare. Thanks to
anyone who would shed some light onto this.

Almost ;-)
It is now called SOGoTOTPEnabled therefore use:

/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences set defaults your-u...@domain.com
SOGoTOTPEnabled '{"SOGoTOTPEnabled":0}'

TOTP is the two factor authentication (2FA) provided by SOGo's webinterface.
You (or your users) enable that in webinterface with option
"Preferences" --> "General" --> "Enable two-factor authentication using
a TOTP application".
When enabled, you will see a QR-Code below the option.
This has to be scanned with a TOTP app (GoogleAuthenticator, andOTP,
...) on your smartphone or tablet prior to storing this change.
The TOTP app will generate login codes every minute, which are needed,
when this option is active.

Re: [SOGo] use https for shared DAV-links - how to ?

Hello

Check your reverse proxy settings.

In Apache you need:
[...]
  http://your-sogo.server.name:2/SOGo>
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "443"
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "%{HTTP_HOST}s"
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://%{HTTP_HOST}s;
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-protocol" "HTTP/1.0"
[...]

This will tell SOGo to use https and the given/received server for all
generated URLs.

Re: [SOGo] Add second E-Mail-Account

2022-01-28 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

All settings in the webfrontend are stored together.
This means, you perhaps have a mandatory field not set in another mail
setting.
E.g. I had once enabled forwarding, but not set an email address to
forward to.
Or an user had forgotten to set a name and email in the second identity,
just added another signature.

As long as that is not fixed, you can not store your changes.

Re: [SOGo] Email reminders

2022-01-20 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

Alarms and Vacation are different.
Alarms are send from the SOGo server, when the event is due.
But Vacations are send from the dovecot server, specifically from the
sieve module in it when an email arrives.
SOGo only sets the sieve rule per managesieve on activation of the
vacation, and removes it after deactivation.
Therefore you have to look at your dovecot logs, in order to find
vacation replys.

Re: [SOGo] Email reminders

2022-01-14 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough.

In /etc/sogo/mailAlarms.creds you need credentials for an account
capable to send emails in the name of every other user on your SOGo server.
Not sure your account can do that.

It is some time back since I set this up, but not having
/etc/sogo/mailAlarms.creds altogether, did trigger a "not configured"
error back then.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

1 You could set up an LDAP Server and feed it with exported address book
data from SOGo.
That would not be live access to SOGo, but you could do those exports on
a regular basis.

2 or 3 use XML formatted Data only.
I could not find any definition for that format (just some quick search,
probably missed it).
SOGo does not provide that anyway.
You currently only have cardDAV access to address books on SOGo side.
If you know the XML format definition, you could write a converter
Application, or open an enhancement request at https://sogo.nu/bugs

As it only provides VOIP and DECT and no access via cardDAV or any file
based import function, there is no way to integrate any cardDAV, LDIF or
vCard address book.

Re: [SOGo] sogo-tool: subscribe does not show the owner of the calendar

2021-12-22 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

There is no documentation on sogo-tool, except the help texts you get,
when not using complete sogo-tool commands.

For changing display name of calendars you have to get and set
user-preferences for key "Calendar" with sogo-tool.

1) Subscribe the calendar from owner-user to dest-user.
2) Get current calendar settings from dest-user:

/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences get settings dest-user Calendar|sed
-e 's/^\([^:]*\): \(.*\)$/{\"\1\": \2}/' |python3 -m json.tool
>dest-userCalendar.json

The sed command is only making the output valid JSON by adding a pair of
double quotes around the first key and a pair of curly braces around the
whole output.
The call of json.tool will pretty print the JSON, in order to make it
more readable.

3) Change display name of subscribed calendar in section
"FolderDisplayNames" in dest-userCalendar.json

e.g. change from
"owner-user:Calendar/personal": "Personal Calendar"
to
"owner-user:Calendar/personal": "Owner-user-Name Personal
Calendar"

4) Set this change for dest-user:

/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences set settings dest-user Calendar -f
dest-userCalendar.json

With that approach you can set all preferences for a calendar like
sorting, colour and modification notifications etc.
Just see the dest-userCalendar.json for possible settings.

The ACLs (Access Control Lists) settable to calendars are equal to the
ones in webinterface.
You can set privileges based on the confidentiality levels "Public",
Confidential" and "Private".
Those privileges in ascending order are: "DAndTViewer", "Viewer",
"Responder", "Modifier".
Each privilege contains all lesser privileges.
This means privilege "Responder" also includes privileges "DAndTViewer"
and "Viewer".
So if you want to allow someone to read, respond and modify all existing
public events in a calendar, you have to give this someone the privilege
"PublicModifier" on that calendar.

There are also 2 privileges, which are not influenced by confidentiality
levels.
Those are "ObjectCreator" and "ObjectEraser".
With those someone can create new events and delete existing events.

That*s all ;-)
Hope this makes it a bit clearer.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Re: [SOGo] IMAPS & SMTPS connections

2021-12-16 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

Your self signed certificate is a CA certificate :-)

On FreeBSD you have to:
sudo cp my-rootCA.crt /etc/ssl/certs/
sudo chmod 0644 /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt
sudo chown root:wheel /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt
sudo openssl x509 -noout -hash -in /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt

The last command gives you some String, e.g. 5d3b9418
Use that in the following command:
sudo ln -s /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt /etc/ssl/certs/5d3b9418.0

That's it.

Of course you have to do that for both self signed certificates from
your two servers.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

2021-12-16 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

This is your problem.
You have to tell your OS, which CA you use.

Which OS are you using?

In Debian you have to add it by:
sudo cp my-rootCA.crt /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/
sudo update-ca-certificates

Re: [SOGo] IMAPS & SMTPS connections

2021-12-16 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

This only works for SMTP and IMAP on the same host as SOGo.
As hyvernat philippe is using different servers, this will not work.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Hello

Do you have those IP addresses in your certificates on your IMAP and
SMTP servers?

If not, you should add the names from those certificates in your sogo.conf.

And what have you set for NGImap4ConnectionStringSeparator?

You can share addressbooks and calendars in SOGo to the one account, you
are using in Thunderbird.

Else you need different domains pointing to the same SOGo server, as
Thunderbird only provides/uses a single login per domain.
You can achieve that by extending your local "hosts" file, but I would
go the before mentioned route.

Re: [SOGo] Connection interface of SOGO not load

2021-12-09 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

First check if you enabled mod_proxy and mod_headers with
sudo a2enmod proxy headers

Then check the settings in sogo-apache.conf, especially:
[...]
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "80"
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "%{HTTP_HOST}s"
RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "http://%{HTTP_HOST}s;
[...]

Check if it is activated in apache with:
sudo a2ensite sogo-apache

Christian Mack

This function has moved.
You have to select an email by clicking on the person icon in front of
it in the list, then use the three dots menu above the list --> "Move To".

You can move multiple emails at the same time with this, by selecting
multiple emails at once.

Like enforcing password changes.

You could open an enhancement request for that on

Yes, in my opinion that habit is a relict of times, when you could trust
your own network and all devices on it.
In times of bring-your-own-device and using private Smartphones all the
time, this does not apply anymore.
Every client can be infected, and should be treated as such.
I know, security is annoying.

The error states, that your sogo.conf file is either malformed or not

Check access privileges for user sogo and then check sogo.conf with plparse.

Do you use shared IMAP folders, or do you use additional external

Does this occur in both directions?

It will show up, if you switch your Tasks filter from "Today" to "All".
"Today" is standard, because usually you want to see the tasks due today
when logging in.

You yourself can do nothing (else everyone could do that too).

Re: [SOGo] CardDAV clients and shared address books

2021-10-01 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

You first should subscribe those address books in SOGo web interface, in
order to check, if you really can use them as expected.
You do that in your account by switching to the address book view.
Then for each shared address book do the following.
On the left side press the plus sign behind "Subscriptions".
Type (partly) the email address of the user sharing this address book to
you.
There will be a list of matching users.
Choose the one you need.
This will unfold a list of address books from that user you have
privileges for.
Choose the all you want and click the "Subscribe" button after them.

Now you can check, if you can see and probably edit or delete those
address cards in those address books.

Apple uses as far as I know only one address book per account, so no
shared ones possible there.

I don't know eM Client.

Christian Mack

If that user has logged in once into SOGo, you can use sogo-tool backup
for that user.
Then change the settings you want to change in the backup file.
After that restore the settings with sogo-tool -p

Do you use sogo-tool backups?
If yes, you just have to list the available calendars for that user with
sogo-tool restore -l ~sogo/path-with-backups/ USERNAME

You will get something like:
<0x0x55bd0bf8f610[SOGoCache]> Using host(s) 'local-databasehost' as
server(s)
2021-09-07 17:43:44.414 sogo-tool[21867:21867] Restorable folders:

2021-09-07 17:43:44.415 sogo-tool[21867:21867] Calendar/personal
(Persönlicher Kalender)
[...]

If you want to restore calendar named "Pickwick" use:
sogo-tool restore -f Calendar/c81a287ec3c4719de08fae31306f851d
~sogo/path-with-backups/ USERNAME

Option -f means restore all events and series not already in that calendar.
If you want to reset the calendar to the state of the backup use option -F.

If you don't use sogo-tool backups, you have to restore at least the
complete database into another database server and extraxt the needed
data from there.
You could for example use your SOGo test server and do a sogo-tool
backup for that user after restore of the complete database.
Transfer that users backup to the production machine and restore as
shown above.

Christian Mack

RFC822 is specifying the email format.
Therefore that date originates from an email in the users postbox.
Everytime SOGo parses that email, you get that error message.
The only way to get rid of it is to delete that email.

And yes, whoever/whatever program wrote that email should get publicly
blamed for not knowing how to generate a valid email.

Re: [SOGo] Invitation of resources in SOGo (mailcow dockerized with SOGo) lead to crash of calendar entry

2021-07-30 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

Which version of SOGo do you use?

Did you try to change the acl via sogo-tool from commandline?

In comparison of a normal account to a resource account, the resource
account automatically accepts invitations from the same sogo server in
its personal calendar, if it is not busy at that time.
This does not work for invitations from external people/accounts.
You also can define, how many appointments can there be at the same
time, before it gets announced as busy.

This all has nothing to do with other accounts beeing able to invite an
normal or resource account.
For that you need to check setting PreventInvitations and
PreventInvitationsWhitelist.
sogo-tool user-preferences get settings ACCOUNTNAME Calendar|grep
--color -e PreventInvitations -e PreventInvitationsWhitelist

If PreventInvitations is set to 1 for the invited account and the
inviting account is not listed in PreventInvitationsWhitelist, that
appointment which tries to invite that account is invalid, and will
produce an error message in the web frontend.
In clients using calDAV, that error message is not always displayed, but
as the appointment is invalid, it will not be possible to store it in SOGo.
E.g. Thunderbird is known, to not display that error and silently
discarting that appointment.

In order for free/busy lookups to work, at least the personal calendar
of that account needs DateAndTime access for the inviting account.
But you should be able to invite an account even when no free/busy
information is available.
It should then be shown as always free.

Christian Mack

This is impossible for SOGo to do.
These external invitations are distributed only via email.
Therefore SOGo has to "see" that email, in order to recognize it as an
appointment invitation and register it in the users personal calendar.
But SOGo does not know the credentials of the user.
Because of that it can not access the INBOX, without the user being
logged in into the web frontend.

Currently there is no way to do so.
You only can do a restart, which would interrupt your service.
I would open a feature request for it on https://sogo.nu/bugs

with Thunderbird v78.8.1

Re: [SOGo] sogo-connector with thunderbird 78 (32-bit),windows 10, sogo 2.x doesn't sync events properly.

2021-07-14 Thread Christian Mack
Hi

SOGo Connector is not compatible with Thunderbird 78+
Therefore no synchronisation with address book at all.
There is a beta Version available, but:

* No synchronisation of address lists, only address cards
* No support for read only address books
* No search only address books, it always tries to download all address
cards from an address book.

Those are restrictions every cardDAV Add-On is facing, because
Thunderbird 78+ lacks internal interface and/or functionality for those.

Kind regards.

There are several changes involved.
Check the database upgrade scripts in /usr/share/doc/sogo/sql-update-3*
for examples.
Also some settings respective their values have changed.

No, you just can set how many Spam emails are send within one reporting

See option "limit" in "SOGoMailJunkSettings":

SOGoMailJunkSettings = {

You only can activate additional debugging output.
With
SOGoDebugRequests = YES;
you get an entry when SOGo starts processing a request and a summary how
long it took like this:

Apr 19 10:34:41 sogod [1034]: |SOGo| starting method 'GET' on uri
'/SOGo/so/WhatEverUser/Calendar/view'
Apr 19 10:34:41 sogod [1034]: |SOGo| request took 0.037421 seconds to
execute
Apr 19 10:34:41 sogod [1034]: 134.34.1.48 "GET
/SOGo/so/WhatEverUser/Calendar/view HTTP/1.1" 200 9401/0 0.040 31037 69%
0 - 18

In angle brackets you get the pid of that process.
The "|SOGo| starting method..." gives you the URL with username/email of
that request.

Beware, you will get 3 instead of 1 line for every request.
Therefore make sure you have enough space on your log device.
Also changing Debug output requires a restart of sogo.

> Also, with the SvMemLimit set to 500MB, why would these processes not be
> auto-killed?  (I can see in the log that the majority of these processes
> are being restarted when they hit 500MB, but these particular ones don't)
>

For that you have to know, how those limits work.
SOGo main process accepts a connection and distributes that request to a
free worker.
That SOGo worker processes that request.
While doing so the SOGo WatchDog process will monitor the worker.
WatchDog will kill the worker if either it does not respond anymore, or
if WOWatchDogRequestTimeout is reached.
After finishing the request, the worker is checked from the WatchDog, if
they use more memory than the set SvMemLimit limit.
If yes, they are killed and a new worker is spawned.

Therefore they can get as big as your RAM + swap allows, as long as they
process one request, answer timely to WatchDog and don't take longer
than WOWatchDogRequestTimeout (in Minutes).

Christian Mack

Did you set "passwordPolicy = YES;" in your SOGoUserSources section?

To quote the installation documentation:
"passwordPolicy

If set to YES, SOGo will use the extended LDAP Password Policies
attributes. If your LDAP server does not support those and you activate
this feature, every LDAP requests will fail. Note that some LDAP servers
require LDAP/SSL for password policies to work. This is the case for
example with 389 Directory Server.

Yeah, I had several users with that problem ;-)

2FA has to be disabled again.
On the command line of the SOGo server call:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences set defaults ${YourUserName}
SOGoGoogleAuthenticatorEnabled '{"SOGoGoogleAuthenticatorEnabled":0}'

You can check it afterwards with:
/usr/sbin/sogo-tool user-preferences get defaults ${YourUserName}
SOGoGoogleAuthenticatorEnabled

Zero means disabled.

Are you sure, you use ActiveSync with tbsync, not calDAV/cardDAV?

Either way, it should update for the organizer in SOGo webaccess, but
can take a while depending on different settings for cache and refresh
interval.
For other attendees it is sometimes unreliable.

Hello

I do not know Zentyal, but I think I heard it uses dovecot as IMAP server.

Activating the cron job is not enough.

Did you enable SOGoVacationEnabled and SOGoSieveScriptsEnabled?
What have you set for SOGoSieveServer and SOGoSieveFolderEncoding?
Do you provide valid credentials in /etc/sogo/sieve.creds?
Did you install dovecot-sieve and dovecot-managesieve and configure it?

What error do you get?

Hi Zdeněk Havránek

Because all other cardDav Add-Ons (including cardBook) try to download
the complete global address book, which is in our case about 20.000
addresses big.
That is not only a data security problem, but a lot of data to synchronize.

And you can not manage sharing privileges of calendars and address
books, nor create new ones within Thunderbird.

Mail quota is set in dovecot configuration.
You can set it via authentication source (LDAP/AD/Database) as attribute
per user.

Mail quota and used space is visible in SOGo in mail View in left column
below the account.

Sending limits can be set in SOGo.
But this is set for all users in sogo.conf.

Max size of emails to receive is set in postfix.

Not exactly.
Before it prevented the deletion as long, as there was no other address
book in existence, which could provide personal functionality and
another one set up for the catch all functionality.

AFAIK you now can never delete them.
But perhaps you can at least rename them to something like "local
personal" and "local collected addresses"?

That option equals the number of workers use, when sogod is started by
systemd or init V.
You can set WOWorkersCount in sogo.conf, but this will only be used,
when sogod is started manually (e.g. for debugging).

You should read

That is a mostly manual process.

1) create an empty calendar for the target user.
2) make a backup of both users with sogo-tool
3) delete everything in source users backup, that is not the calendar to
transfer.
4) insert the calendar into the empty fresh created calendar section in
the target users backup. Make sure to keep the new GUID of the fresh
calendar.
5) restore this calendar into the target user with sogo-tool
6) restore the preferences of the target user with sogo-tool
7) check if all got transfered correctly.
8) remove source user with sogo-tool
9) restore all calendars and address books and preferences with
sogo-tool for source user except the transfered calendar.
10) tell the target user to log into SOGo and set "Subscribe User" for
all users with access rights on this calendar. Or inform all of those
users to subscribe it manually.

Beware:
* If its users use invitations, they will break, as they are bound to
the email address of the old source user.
Therefore if an existing event with invitations for the source user is
changed, the target user will not see this change!

You can create a new user on 5.0.0 and he/she can use it?
You did dump with the sogo-tool from 2.2.17a?
And you are restoring with sogo-tool from 5.0.0 into 5.0.0 System?
And all users exist on the authentication source?
You have setup a new database for SOGo 5.0.0?

Then this should work.

Re: [SOGo] Sogo UI not loading

2020-09-09 Thread Christian Mack
Hello

I personally havn't seen this before.
You should open a bug report at https://sogo.nu/bugs/
Not sure, if there is one open with that symptoms already.
So check first.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

This is on the SOGo server.
You defined two local folders for building a MIME email in sogo.conf via
SOGoMailSpoolPath and NGMimeBuildMimeTempDirectory.
Those are used before a newly created email gets saved in the IMAP
Drafts folder.

Hope that helps a bit.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack
