SOGo is a universal web interface, IMHO. All it requires is AUTHentication
so as to display emails and also to be able to send emails.
If for once you'd stop focusing on iRedmail and just start with looking at
what SOGo is meant to do, you'd get the concept clearly.
That information is here:
https://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html

As it is, you can already install SOGo only on a VM and test it with your
existing server - testing only with your account until you're satisfied.
Your existing server just needs to be configured to relay when ASMTP
succeeds. Simple. Other than that, it needs to allow IMAP4 access from
remote.
That's as easy as opening port 143 on the firewall for a particular IP
address.

Iredmail depends on SOGo for the webUI/Groupware. SOGo does not need
iRedmail.

You are welcome.

One last thing, sogo.conf should have your desired TZ in there.

SOGoTimeZone = America/Ney_York

The SOGo web UI inherits this.

You can edit the TZ by typing it. Just place your cursor after the C and
then backspace, then time whatever TZ you want it to be.

If your two systems are supposed to be identical, then just dump the other
database schema and import it into the new server.

PS: I hate to-posting!

In one of my setups, I have these definitions in sogo.conf:

/* Database Configuration */
SOGoProfileURL = "mysql://sogou:/* Database Configuration */
SOGoProfileURL = "mysql://
sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_user_profile";
OCSFolderInfoURL = "mysql://
sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_folder_info";
OCSSessionsFolderURL = "mysql://
sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_sessions_folder";
OCSEMailAlarmsFolderURL="mysql://
sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_alarms_folder";

OCSStoreURL="mysql://sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_store";
OCSAclURL="mysql://sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_acl";
OCSCacheFolderURL="mysql://
sogou:XX@127.0.0.1:3306/exim4u/sogo_cache_folder";

Looking at the exim4u DB:

```
root@localhost [exim4u]> show tables;
++
Tables_in_exim4u
++
blocklists
domainalias
domains
group_contents
ml
mygroups
sogo_acl
sogo_alarms_folder
sogo_auth_view
sogo_cache_folder
sogo_folder_info
sogo_quick_appointment
sogo_quick_contact
sogo_sessions_folder
sogo_store
sogo_user_profile
users
++
```

As you can see, there's nothing like sogo_users table in the DB!

If you need more help, I will do that, but only IF you do not top-post!

That link contains:
```
defaults -u sogo write sogod OCSFolderInfoURL
"mysql://sogo:sogopasswd@localhost:3306/sogo/sogo_folder_info"
defaults -u sogo write sogod SOGoProfileURL
"mysql://sogo:sogopasswd@localhost:3306/sogo/sogo_user_profile"
defaults -u sogo write sogod OCSSessionsFolderURL
"mysql://sogo:sogopasswd@localhost:3306/sogo/sogo_sessions_folder"
```

So those are 3 tables: sogo_folder_info, sogo_user_profile
and sogo_sessions_folder.
Where did you get the sogo_users from ??
Looking at my setup, I don't see any table with that name too:

```
MariaDB [sogo]> show tables;
++
Tables_in_sogo
++
sogo_acl
sogo_alarms_folder
sogo_cache_folder
sogo_folder_info
sogo_quick_appointment
sogo_quick_contact
sogo_sessions_folder
sogo_store
sogo_user_profile
users
++
```

So there is something you are not doing right!

They need to address it, not you, just as the message says.
Your IP address - 185.223.74.125 - is part of a large block from your ISP

I am running 5.8.0 on FreeBSD and unless I logout, my session stays logged

On my Ubuntu server, I run 5.5.1 with same table and no problem.

Is this an issue with installation from source then? I don't have this file

Re: [SOGo] quick auto logout in sogo 5.x

2023-05-10 Thread Odhiambo Washington
Looking at my 5.8.0 setup, and my table:

SQL> show create table sogo_sessions_folder:

sogo_sessions_folder | CREATE TABLE `sogo_sessions_folder` (
  `c_id` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
  `c_value` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
  `c_creationdate` int(11) NOT NULL,
  `c_lastseen` int(11) NOT NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY (`c_id`)
) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8mb4

So I want to ask: Is the change of c_value type from varchar to text
documented in some ChangeLog that I missed?
And how does it affect the logged in session expiry?

cd /usr/ports/www/sogo && make deinstall
cd /usr/ports/devel/sope && make deinstall
cd /usr/ports/www/sogo && make install clean
delete all files in /var/log/sogo # That is where I store my sogod logs

Look at sogo.log now and tell us what it says.

Re: [SOGo] Sogo Calendar events deleted

2023-02-14 Thread Odhiambo Washington
Why would you let log file grow to several GB? What happened to configuring
log file rotations? :)

Please split the log file into several manageable sizes. Something like
this: split -b100m -a5 sogo.log
(Split splits the files based upon your size specification whether based
upon line or bytes. It then adds a suffix to these files to keep them in
order)

and do the usual grep on them - grep "string1|string2|string3" file_name.

For starters, may I please request you to try and adhere to the following
guideline when communicating on mailing lists:
1. https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/9283192#better-conversations
I am mostly interested in replying inline and NOT top-posting. Thank you
very much.

Now, looking at your captured error, it would appear that you have a
problem with caching and that problem lies with memcached, because that is
where caching is done.
On FreeBSD which I believe you are familiar with, you can do one of two
things:
1. Log all queries to memcached. You do this by adding -vvv (the number of
v's depend on the verbosity you want) to memcached_flags in rc.conf and
restarting memcached.
I'd also try and give Memcached a little more RAM to use with -m 128
2. Capture these queries in it's own file by adding a specific logging
config to /etc/syslog.conf:

!memcached
*.* /var/log/memcached.log #please touch this file!
Then restart syslogd with: kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog.pid`

>From there, for every entry about caching in sogo.log, check for a
corresponding entry in memcached.log.
Hopefully, you will nail the problem by deducing a solution.

Sorry for the lecture. I just did not want to make assumptions that you
know what I wanted you to do :)

Well, it says what the error is. Are you sure you want to link SOGo to
itself? The '/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lSOGo' seems to suggest that, or
maybe you should remove it.
And why compile manually though?

You can have this load-balancing implemented if you wanted, probably even
locally on the host
running SOGo. dnsdist, haproxy, traefik all come to mind. You just need a
TCP load balancer.

Well, this is something that you can check from SOGo's logs. If you gave it
that name as the IMAP server,
you can check on the logs to see the IP address it is making a connection
to.
I will leave the definitive answer to the developers to talk about how the
DNS libraries behave :)

SOGo is not a load-balancer.
SOGo daemon only listens and responds to what the web server requests of it.

Check where it stores the users. Perhaps it's using another DB different

If you are storing passwords in plaintext in your DB, that's one thing you
should think about.
As regards your question, just disable all debugging from 10-logging.conf
(dovecot).

I am not going the wrong way actually. I wanted to be sure that the right
table is in place because SOGo uses specific column names.
In my setup, I created a VIEW to use with SOGo. (BTW, I'm curious about
the HOWTO that you followed for your installation).
Now that we know the right table columns exist, we can focus on debugging.
1. I am assuming that your dovecot-sql.conf.ext also
has: default_pass_scheme = ssha512, because this is what you have specified
in sogo.conf.
2. I am assuming that in sogo.conf, you have set MySQL4DebugEnabled = YES;
(I mean you've removed the // from the line) and restarted sogod.
3. I am assuming that in dovecot's 10-logging.conf, you have set the
following params:

log_path = /var/log/dovecot-error.log
# Log file to use for informational messages. Defaults to log_path.
info_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-info.log
# Log file to use for debug messages. Defaults to info_log_path.
debug_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-debug.log
auth_verbose = yes
auth_verbose_passwords = yes
auth_debug = yes #Shows SQL queries
auth_debug_passwords = yes #Logs the passwords and the used scheme so the
problem can be debugged

and restarted dovecot!

Now just look at the logs and you will discover why sogo is experiencing
errors.

Dovecot can only listen on the following ports by default: 110 (POP3), 143
(IMAP4), 993 (IMAPS), 995 (POP3S).
It can never listen to port 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS) which are only used by
a web server (Nginx, Apache, Lighttpd).

The logs you are showing are from Postfix and not dovecot!
Please enable debugging on dovecot and look at the dovecot logs. You need
to be seeing SQL queries on the logs.
Please re-read your 10-logging.conf from dovecot, enable debugging are
refer to the file specified.

I use SOGo on FreeBSD and Ubuntu and it all works fine.
For those of you using dovecot, it should be easy to debug the
authentication queries on the dovecot end than on the SOGo end.
In conf.d/10logging.conf:
auth_verbose = yes
auth_verbose_passwords = yes
auth_debug = yes #Shows SQL queries
auth_debug_passwords = yes #Logs the passwords and the used scheme so the
problem can be debugged

On the SOGo side, you can also enable any of these in sogo.conf:

/* Debug */
//SOGoDebugRequests = YES;
//SoDebugBaseURL = YES;
//ImapDebugEnabled = YES;
//LDAPDebugEnabled = YES;
//PGDebugEnabled = YES;
//MySQL4DebugEnabled = YES;
//SOGoUIxDebugEnabled = YES;
//WODontZipResponse = YES;
//WOLogFile = /var/log/sogo/sogo.log;
//GCSFolderDebugEnabled = NO;
//GCSFolderStoreDebugEnabled = NO;
//NGImap4DisableIMAP4Pooling = NO;
//OCSFolderManagerSQLDebugEnabled = NO;
//PGDebugEnabled = MO;
//SOGoMailKeepDraftsAfterSend = NO;
// SoDebugObjectTraversal = YES;
//SoSecurityManagerDebugEnabled = NO;
//WODebugZipResponse  = NO;

I do not prefer Postfix, but I have been able to successfully use it with
my DB structure.

What you guys need to check for is your encryption scheme.
I have this in sogo.conf:
userPasswordAlgorithm = md5-crypt;

And it dovecot.conf I have:
default_pass_scheme = MD5-CRYPT

Ensure that your passwords are of the md5-crypt type: *$1$0*
Gizh6Qw$UNkB.rmlDOVhA6GuJnfRT1

It should not be difficult just playing with the two values from the two
conf files.

Looking at that does not tell me what other options exist for a config
param.
For example, SOGoAnimationMode = "normal";
What are the other options for this parameter? Complete documentation is
necessary.

No. Please stick to Ootlook! "-)

On a serious note though, how do you suppose MS Outlook gets such
information about a recipient of an e-mail?
I don't use Outlook much, but I have never seen such Tips. Outlook has no
way of knowing the mailbox status of a recipient. Neither does it have a
way of knowing if a recipient has configured an OOR - unless the sender and
the recipient are in the same server/mail domain.

After the make deinstall, I installed using 'pkg install
sogo-activesync-5.0.1_1' which uses a binary package.

Hi Lars,

I used freebsd-update to upgrade.
I also did the following:

# pkg-static install -f pkg
# pkg bootstrap -f
# pkg update
# pkg upgrade

On my system, there are some cases where I use the pre-built binaries while
on others I use the ports.

2021-04-18 Thread Odhiambo Washington
After upgrading my OS from 12-RELEASE to 13-RELEASE, sogod wouldn't start

I get this error:

Might anyone know how I can fix this?

Re: [SOGo] change password won't update mailserver database

2021-04-02 Thread Odhiambo Washington
PS: I am not so used to top-posting on MLs.

My question is - what is the problem with using the same DB? SOGo uses it'd
own tables, which you can drop at will.
After all, it's the same DB server!
You will not _easily_ achieve what you want with two separate databases.
Note *easily*. And I can assure you there isn't already a solution in the
public domain.
If you create the VIEW as I shared before, your problem is solved and you
are home and dry. In fact even this discussion would have ended :-)

Re: [SOGo] change password won't update mailserver database

2021-04-02 Thread Odhiambo Washington
Oops! I just remembered.
SOGo needs to use the same database as your POP3/IMAP4 engine.
I have been using Dovecot for that purpose.

If you are using MySQL you need to create a VIEW for SOGo to use.

Here is what I did in my DB (and it is documented somewhere online):

CREATE VIEW sogo_auth_view AS SELECT user_id AS sogo_id, username AS c_uid,
username AS c_name, crypt AS c_password, realname AS c_cn, username AS
mail, realname AS displayName FROM users WHERE enabled='1';
(of course customize this according to your DB schema)

Then in your authenticators set:

viewURL ="mysql://DBUSER:PASSWORD@127.0.0.1:3306/DBNAME/*sogo_auth_view*";

I have SOGo update a MySQL database when users change passwords.
I believe you should look at whether your setting for userPasswordAlgorithm
matches what is expected by your POP3/IMAP4 engine.

SOGoSMTPServer = 127.0.0.1;
or
SOGoSMTPServer = smtp://domain*:port  *

*[*Installation and Configuration Guide (sogo.nu)
<https://sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html>]

SOGoSMTPServer: The DNS name or IP address of the SMTP server
used when SOGoMailingMechanism is set to smtp.
   Supported formats are:
*smtp://domain:port*, *smtps://domain, domain:port*,
*smtp://domain:port/?tls=YES*.
   Using the option tls=YES will
enforce using STARTTLS SMTP connections. Thus,
smtp://localhost:587/?tls=YES
   would use the default MUA port
on localhost with STARTTLS enforced.
  To disable TLS verification for
localhost domains, add tlsVerifyMode=allowInsecureLocalhost to
  such connections:
smtp://localhost:587/?tls=YES=allowInsecureLocalhost.

And all that is required is that a connection can be made to N.N.N.N and it
allows the IP address of the SOGo server to send mail through it.

So, once you append the port to the value, and restart sogod, share the
logs of the SMTP server and not SOGo :-)

Hi Paul,

I have tested that and it also works.
I think I will go with it.

Looking at the logs, it appears like SOGo is setting the user as just
"user" and not "user@domain".
When this is sent to the IMAP server, authentication fails because IMAP is
expecting a login in the form of "user@domain".

How do I resolve this?
How do I make SOGo to send the full e-mail address
(odhiambo@newideatest.local) to the IMAP server??

Definitely something to change in the SOGoUserSources below, but not sure
what it is.

SOGoUserSources = (
{
type = ldap;
CNFieldName = cn;
    UIDFieldName = sAMAccountName;
baseDN = "cn=users,dc=newideatest,dc=local";
bindDN = "CN=dovecot,CN=users,DC=newideatest,DC=local";
bindPassword = "mi-secreta";
bindFields = (sAMAccountName, mail);
filter = "mail = '*'";
canAuthenticate = YES;
displayName = "NI Users";
hostname = "ldap://127.0.0.1:389;;
id = public_samba4AD;
isAddressBook = YES;
}
);

Thanking you in advance.

I know it's a long read.

[SOGo] SOGoUserSources

2020-11-26 Thread Odhiambo Washington
Hello good people,

Something has crossed my mind - is there a way to daisy-chain domains in
sogo.conf?

1. If I have 3 domains sharing the same server and same authentication
source, instead of creating different blocks for the domains, is there a
way to daisy-chain them in the same block?

Instead of:

domains = {
domain1 = {
SOGoMailDomain = domain1;
SOGoUserSources = (
{

}
);
};

domain2 = {
SOGoMailDomain = domain2;
SOGoUserSources = (
{

}
);
};

};

Maybe it's possible to do it differently, like:

domains = {
   domain1, domain2, domainN = {
   SOGoMailDomains = domain1, domain2, domainN;
  SOGoUserSources = (

}
);
};
};

2. If I have 3 domains sharing same authentication source, can I just
create a single SOGoUserSources block, without the need to specify the
domains?
Let's say I have several domains using same MySQL user source and other
several domains using LDAP user source, so I create a single MSQL user
source and
a single LDAP user source, like:

/* MySQL */
SOGoUserSources =
(
{
   type = sql;
  id = directory;
  viewURL = "postgresql://sogo:sogo@127.0.0.1:5432/sogo/sogo_view";
  canAuthenticate = YES;
   isAddressBook = YES;
   userPasswordAlgorithm = md5;
}
);

/* LDAP AD/Samba4 */
  SOGoUserSources = (
  {
   type = ldap;
   CNFieldName = cn;
   UIDFieldName = sAMAccountName;
   baseDN = "CN=users,dc=domain,dc=tld";
   bindDN = "CN=sogo,CN=users,DC=domain,DC=tld";
   bindFields = (sAMAccountName, mail);
   bindPassword = password;
   canAuthenticate = YES;
   displayName = "Public";
hostname = "ldap://127.0.0.1:389;;
filter = "mail = '*'";
id = directory;
   isAddressBook = YES;
}
);

And SOGo would try to authenticate against the 1st source, fail and try the
next source??

[SOGo] SOGO+Samba4 AD - SOGo not finding e-mails

2020-11-26 Thread Odhiambo Washington
Hello,

I have a situation here that is making me pull all my hair out:

I have been using SOGo with MySQL and it's been working very well.

I have now added LDAP AD/Samba4 authentication for a test domain and SOGo
does not find and display e-mails, whereas Outlook is able to connect via
IMAP and display those e-mails.

Authentication succeeds, then instead of displaying the web UI showing
e-mails, calendar, etc, it simply logs out and wants me to login again.

I am not sure if it is possible to mix-and-match different types of
authentication. I thought it should not be a problem and SOGO would use the
Dictionaries and Sources one after another.
Is my assumption correct???

Hoping someone is able to act as my 3rd eye and see where my mistake is.

I have captured sogo.log on this link:
https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/SMKx59cpNw/
My sogo.conf is on the following link:
https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/PQpQVNYGBJ/

Thanking you in advance

How about just rewrite that address at the MTA level?

Yes. I meant the DB backup.

I never had to do that because on my servers, there is nothing that sogo
saves outside the DB.
TBH, I have never used sogo-tool even once!

It's easier to just reuse the creds from sogo.conf so no need to edit
sogo.conf (dbname, username, password):
MySQL>CREATE USER 'username'@'hostname OR IP' IDENTIFIED WITH
mysql_native_password BY 'the_password';
MYSQL>GRANT ALL ON dbname.* TO  'username'@'hostname OR IP';

- restart sogo

Yes. move the dump to the new server :-)

I did not encounter any when I migrated from 5.7 to 8.0.
