[xwiki-users] Problem with view animated pictures in 7.1.2 after resize

Hi! 

In out organization we faced with problem after update xwiki from
6.4-milestone-2 to latest stable version 7.1.2 . 
In pages on xwiki we have animated pictures. 
And animation worked after resize on previous version. For example (test.gif
- animated gif): 

[[image:test.gif||height="30" width="20"]] 

We saw animated picture after resize. 

But now on version 7.1.2 it not work. 

On link such as  ./test.gif?width=20&height=30  we see only picture
without animation 
On link such as ./test.gif we see normal animation (but we need resize
it). 

How to resolve this problem  ?

Hi, 

We faced with next error on xwiki version 6.4-milestone-2 (it stable work ~1
year, but the number of users increased and problem appeared some weeks
ago): 

At random time no one cannot access to any xwiki page (admins also) - in
interface we see message that we have no right to access this page. 

In output log we find errors such as (pages in the log as well as users can
be different):

Only reboot helped us to avoid this error. But errors after some days appear
again. 

How we can solve this problem?

Hi,

After update from 6.4.2 to 7.1.2 we faced with message in LDAP settings:

But it work, I can access to xwiki with my LDAP login and password.
I changed logging level for
com.xpn.xwiki.user.impl.LDAP.XWikiLDAPAuthServiceImpl in debug mode and see
in log:
DEBUG u.i.L.XWikiLDAPAuthServiceImpl - LDAP authentication succeed with
principal [XWiki.aleksey-s]

xwiki.cfg for 6.4.2 and 7.1.2 identical.


We  tested  rollback  xwiki to 6.4.2 and message "LDAP service is not
available. Please verify your installation." disappeared..

Why the message "LDAP service is not available. Please verify your
installation" appeared on 7.1.2 ?

Yes. To make sure I copied xwiki.cfg from old to new version again and
restart xwiki. 

In xwiki.cfg in LDAP section uncommented  only next strings

xwiki.authentication.authclass=com.xpn.xwiki.user.impl.LDAP.XWikiLDAPAuthServiceImpl
xwiki.authentication.ldap.server=127.0.0.1
xwiki.authentication.ldap.port=389
xwiki.authentication.ldap.bind_DN=cn={0},department=USER,department=INFORMATIK,department=1230,o=MP
xwiki.authentication.ldap.bind_pass={1}
xwiki.authentication.ldap.base_DN=
xwiki.authentication.ldap.fields_mapping=last_name=sn,first_name=givenName,email=mail
xwiki.authentication.ldap.update_user=1
xwiki.authentication.ldap.trylocal=1 

But in XWikiPreferences some parameters not match to xwiki.cfg (ldap server
and etc). It was on old version too.

Thank you! It is our situation, we installed "XWiki Platform - LDAP - API" in
extension manager on new version and error message disappeared.

[xwiki-users] Authorisation through apache

Hi,

For authorisation on xwiki inside local network we use LDAP (users login
with password). But we want use apache authorisation also from external
network. 
We want use next scheme: user authenticate on apache  and after xwiki take
only login (without password) and gives access to user.

How we may do it ?

[xwiki-users] Duplicated entries in group from LDAP

Hi,

We use version 7.1.2. We created some groups in xwiki. And set up them in
LDAP menu. For example, perform next actions:

1. Create xwiki group `test`. 
2. In LDAP menu in group mapping section input group name `xwiki.test` and
group in LDAP  for mapping `CN=test `

It works, users login and appear in group, but after few weeks we see many
duplicated entries in group. If really in group must be ~200 users then
today I see ~4000. This problem exist almost in all LDAP groups.

Why xwiki duplicate user entries in groups? How to delete duplicated entries
in groups ?

Thanks all. I test
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/SpeechWiki, but actions
on speech not work and supported only English and it work not stable (hang
after defining few words). 

Somebody tried to use google speech with xwiki ?

I resolve this error with attached files by disable version control, but I
don't know how resolve it in this case.

If I understand correctly these queries check if the user entered the last
30 minutes. But why ? And why so long query time ? I try to reproduce in
mysql console (do select for my unique id for last 30 minutes) and query so
fast (~0,1s)

We use statistic on our xwiki, but we need only statistic in xwikstatsdoc.
Is it possible to clean xwikistatvisit table ? (This table take large disk
space and have bad perfomance)
And if yes then for which period of time we must keep the data in the
xwikistatvisit for correctly filling xwikstatsdoc ?

[xwiki-users] xwiki 7.1.2 perfomance problem with tomcat

Hi,

We use xwiki version 7.1.2 with tomcat 8 and nginx. In peak of load (when
many users come in) we see that number of Threads grow and xwiki freeze. Ok,
we increased maxThreads from 250 (default)  up to 1100.  



But it is not enough. We don't know cause of problem because number of
simultaneous users in xwiki we have less than 300-400. We did threads dump
and saw many url with words .../download/... as active thread (~ 800 of 1100
active threads ). 

In our xwiki many pictures on pages (~10-15 per page) but we set

xwiki.store.cache.capacity=2000

In xwiki attachement cache folder only 1700 files (i.e.
xwiki.store.cache.capacity not need more).

What cause of problem with threads ? Why so many  threads active long time ? 
And may be someone know good settings for tomcat ?

/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences we have no admin interface
(screenshot below)

 

I try login with superadmin - such problem. How to return it ?

Thank you for answer. I check /xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences  in
version before and after update and see this:

 

I use admin user and I don't see anything in administration panel.

After update I see many errors such as:

Failed to execute the [velocity] macro. Cause: [The execution of the
[velocity] script macro is not allowed. Check the rights of its last author
or the parameters if it's rendered from another script.]. Click on this
message for details.

I want to change permissions for scripts in admin panel, but it disappeared
:(

Thomas, I login under superadmin and see history in
/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiPreferences  - creater was superadmin. For most
system pages owner is admin. In /xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences
owner admin. I did update xwiki to 8.4.1 under admin too. But admin and
superadmin don't see administrator panel in
/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiPreferences. But under admin I may edit
/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiPreferences in object editor. 
And I don't know why my custom  users in admin group (not admin and
superadmin) lost all rights after update... 

May be it is better to update xwiki from 7.1.2 to 7.4.5 first ?

Hi Thomas,

I revert changes for XWiki/XWikiPreference and XWiki/XWikiAdminGroup (to
version before update). For XWikiAdminGroup it helped to restore admin
rights, but for XWiki/XWikiPreference it not helped. 

I don't see Admin UI in /xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences  - page only
show group members of XWikiPreferences

In web server logs I see GET requests if I open this page:

"GET /xwiki/bin/lock/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?ajax=1&action=admin& HTTP/1.1"
204 0 "http://localhost/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences";

Hi, 

Update: I tried to update my wiki from 7.1.2 to 7.1.4 - administrator panel
is Ok. 

If I update from 7.1.2 to 7.4.5 - administrator panel not work (I see group
members instead panel). All updates I do with Distribution wizard after
installing .war.  
If I create new/other wiki on my instalation  - administration panel Ok .
But in my old wiki it not work.

If anyone know how to return administration panel
(/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences ) in my wiki ?

 I think that not one page/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences  relate
with it (I see many changes in Distribution wizard, but don't know what of
it broke my panel ).

It is good idea but I do not know how to import xar file without admin ui. 

In instruction
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/ImportExport I found
only:

 - Point your browser to
http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences or click on the
"Wiki" menu and then on "Administer Wiki"

But my Admin Application not work (it showing me group members of
XWikiPreferences).

It is possible import xar without ui or may be exist different page for
import ?

Hi Vincent,

I repait it without XAR! 

I open my subwiki (where admin ui work correctly) page
/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=object in object editor and open this page in
my Main wiki. I compare pages and delete all object which not present in
/XWiki/XWikiPreferences in my subwiki. After this - admin ui works correctly
on my Main wiki! (I think that some old objects broke admin UI)

I did little test and understand that deleting only one XWiki.XWikiGroups(1)
object help me. This object was blank - http://imgbox.com/Ki2JHu62 
But in version 7.1.2 - 7.1.5 admin ui work correctly with it(I don't know
how this object appeared in my xwiki)

[xwiki-users] Sign in xwiki with LDAP login without entering login and password

Hi,

I do not know how it to properly called, but it is possible to use
pass-through authentication in xwiki with LDAP login ?

For example, I authorized in active directory when I login in my pc, but I
don't want enter login and password second time when I enter in xwiki.

Hi!

We want to use xwiki (7.4.5) in iframe on external site (https), but if I
open page with iframe then  browser show next error:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://mysite/material/1' was loaded over
HTTPS, but requested an insecure resource
'http://xwiki-test/xwiki/bin/login/XWiki/XWikiLogin?srid=GQvB3gT7&xredirect=%2Fxwiki%2Fbin%2Fview%2FMain%2F%3Fsrid%3DGQvB3gT7'.
This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

My xwiki works over https (if I go directly to https://xwiki-test/ then
after xwiki redirect me to login page over https) . 

In xwiki.cfg:

xwiki.url.protocol=https

On this page /xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/XWikiServerXwiki :

SECURE (SSL): 1

Iframe code:

https://xwiki-test/xwiki/bin/view/Main/"; >
 

Why xwiki uses http redirect ?
