Re: [xwiki-users] Panel Wizard - permissions

2011-05-09 Thread Le Génie
Hi Elsa,

You can read this page (found in the faq)
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/HowCanIMakeContentAppearOnlyForASpecificGroup

This applies for the content of the panel. I suppose that if you really want
to hide the panel, you have to apply this code snippet to the velocity
template of xwiki. This page may help

[xwiki-users] Panel Wizard not working in XE2.3.1

2010-06-30 Thread GeLo
Hi XWiki users,

Using XE2.3.1, the Panel Wizard does not work. You can try to save your new
layout, it is not registered.
A workaround is to define the list of panels in the Presentation section.

Do you encounter the same issue ?

 I thought you confirmed sergiu's supposition that you had imported a
 XAR not matching the version installed on the farm? If so you'll need
 to revert it and it should work fine.

 If you tell us what you've done exactly maybe we can find a workaround.

Well, I installed the new Panel application (
http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Applications/PanelsApplicationDownloads)
and it worked fine for few weeks before XWiki got upgraded to 1.4.1.14796

  Is
  there another way to move panels around without the wizard (previous
  versions of XWiki had textfields for left and right panels) ?

 You can go the administration, then click on Edit Objects and look
 for left and right panels field.

Thanks, I'm going to try that in the meantime.

You can go to .../xwiki/bin/admin/SpaceName/WebPreferences?editor=object or
.../xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=object and edit the
XWiki.XWikiPreferences object - it has a field for right panels, a field

right  left panels.

Re: [xwiki-users] Panel Wizard doesn't show it

2009-02-16 Thread Ajdin Brandic
Hi

Regarding accessing Panels Wizard problem on myxwiki.
In my case I'm trying to create a new panel (tag cloud) so things are a
bit more complex. So below is a guide on how to do it without the Panel
Wizard.

I think my programming rights for myxwiki.patternlanguagenetwork got
corrupted due to recent upgrade issues so can I ask someone to reinstate
them or to resave this page 'Panels.TagCloud'.

Add TagCloud Panel without going through PanelWizard (require
Programming Rights).

1. Create page called Panels.TagCloud ('xwiki/bin/view/Panels/TagCloud'
then click on 'edit this page to create it.'.)
2. Add this line
#includeForm(Panels.PanelSheet)
3. Click 'Save and View'

4. Click on Edit - Objects
5. Choose 'Panels.PanelClass' from the 'Add Object' panel on the right.
6. Click 'Add Object from this class' button
7. Fill in: Name=TagCloud, Panel Type=View, Description=Tag Cloud,
Category=Navigation, Content=

#panelheader('Tags Cloud')
#set($query = select elements(prop.list) from BaseObject as obj,
DBStringListProperty as prop where obj.className='XWiki.TagClass' and
obj.id=prop.id.id and prop.id.name='tags')
#set( $allTags = $xwiki.sort($xwiki.search($query)))
#set( $previousTag = )
#set( $tagsWithCount = $xwiki.getHashMap())
#set( $count = 1)
#set( $maxCount = 1)
#foreach($tag in $allTags)
  #if ($tag == $previousTag)
#set( $count = $count + 1)
#if ($count  $maxCount)
  #set ($maxCount = $count)
#end
  #else
#set( $count = 1)
#set( $previousTag = )
  #end
  #set( $dummy = $tagsWithCount.put($tag, $count))
  #set( $previousTag = $tag)
#end
#set($query = select distinct elements(prop.list) from BaseObject as
obj, DBStringListProperty as prop where obj.className='XWiki.TagClass'
and obj.id=prop.id.id and prop.id.name='tags')
#set( $tagsDistinct = $xwiki.sort($xwiki.search($query)))
div style=font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; text-justify: auto;
#foreach($tag in $tagsDistinct)
  #set( $currentCount = $tagsWithCount.get($tag))
  ##set($size = 15 + ($currentCount * 150 / $maxCount))
  #set($size = 10 + ($currentCount/2))
  #set($size = $size + px)
  span style=font-size: $sizea href=$xwiki.getURL(Main.Tags,
view, tag=$tag))$tag/a/span
#end
/div
#panelfooter()

8. Click 'Save and View'

9. Go into XWikiPreferences and click Edit-Objects.
10. Find XWiki.XWikiprefferences and add value 'Panels.TagCloud' to
property 'Panels displayed on the right:'
11. Click 'Save and View'

 Do you have any idea ?

Are you sure you have upgraded the panels pages ?
I've checked the page Panels.PanelWizard and its content looks old.

Could you explain how you've done the last XAR upgrade?

Can you try reimporting the Panels application that corresponds to you
wiki version (you're on XEM 1.4.1 which means XE 1.6.2) ?
I could do it but I don't know if you've changed any panels page so
I'll let you do it instead.

I want to add a new panel TagCloud based on Tag Cloud Snippet.

Hi

Am I the only one having trouble with the Panel Wizards?
I am using newest XE 1.4.9828

I created some Panels and I want to display them. With current skin I
only have a right column.
Panel Wizard
(http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Panels/PanelWizard?forceLeftPanels
=1forceRightPanels=1language=en)
Shows in Information a 3-column layout where I can't drag and drop
anything (it goes back to its original position).
In Navigation (where my panels should be), there is only one column,
the frame is truncated and the panels are one over the other. When I
drag and drop them, they disappear. The layout stays unchanged. What
could be the problem?
Can I solve this with some code (bypassing the wizard)?

Can I define a layout per space?

Thank you

You can set your panel display from the global space preferences pages.
Then under the skin tab, look at the panel options : you can decide to
display left right panels and add the panels you want to be displayed
using the following convention :

Panels.PanelName,Panels.PanelName2, and so on.

Please be patient. You're sending 4 questions per day :)

People are probably busy on some other stuff. Give them time to
answer. If you don't have an answer in a week then you can ask again
politely and I'm sure you'll get your questions answered.

Make sure you also try to solve your own questions by searching the
lists, looking at the source code, searching JIRA, etc.

For example for this panel wizard issue, if you search jira you'll
find someone reported something similar a long time but noboyd has
been able to reproduce it.

Also make sure you give all the details in your mails. Here you don't
say what version of XWiki you're using and with what database and
what database version, so there's no way we can really help.

There's currently no issue opened on the Panel Wizard AFAIK.

[xwiki-users] Panel wizard

2007-10-21 Thread V. Harikrishnan Nair

Hi.

 The panel wizard is supposed to make the job of editing the panel easier
but it is very difficult to drag and drop the panel items where I want them.
The menu item does not travel with the pointer. It is very annoying. Is
