Hi Tom,
My experience with the embedded database in Base has convinced me to move
to an external back-end. I have had several instances of data loss
particularly during sessions of heavy data input.
While I'm in the process of moving my database to an external H2 database,
I still use the
Hi
The short answer to your question is Yes.
You can use Bold and Italics in your Forms and in your Reports in Base.
In both cases you must be in design mode.
Have you been able to design a Form without using Bold or Italics ?

Hi Noel
I'm building a database for a fishing club. I have Member and Boat as two
of the many tables in the DB.
I have a form which shows my Member data and a sub form with the Boat data
of all the boats the member owns.
I used the wizard to produce this form. How did you establish the
Hi Ian,
Ive been reading the posts concerning the security of your database using
mysqldump. Are you using a remote server for your MySQL, or is it on your
own computer?
I've completed a database using LO Base with embedded HSQL. I guess I can
use a MySQL server on my own machine to which I can

I have found that a good source of documentation for LO base is found in

documentation written for OO Base. I've been using Marano Casanova's

Hi Chris,
I'm using the same version of Libre Office as you are, on a windows 7
Professional system.. I have run databases on this version of Base which
were developed on previous versions and even some developed on Open Office.
I do not not have the same problem as you. However, If I close the
Hi Ian,
I'm not sure what you mean by automatic.Would you consider a list box with
a drop down list of all the member names with the equivalent member ID
being the input value to the subform automatic enough? I've used this
approach many times on the project I'm working on.
In your form edit mode
reply to me - appreciated!!

How are you defining your primary keys and your foreign keys ? From your
post, it looks like you have two tables, 'Members' and eMail. Implicit in
your post it appears that the primary key of 'Members' is 'Record ID'.
Also, the primary key of 'eMail' is 'Message ID' while a key called

Hi
I've invested a considerable amount of time in constructing tables, forms
and queries for a project of mine. I successfully produced 3 nice reports
using Report Builder. Now, I'm starting to observe strange behavior in
Base. Queries and Reports I've prepared days earlier suddenly disappear
Hi
capemayal,
In your case expression you use the WHEN keyword. You should have a THEN
keyword to match. If the two dates in your expression match THEN what
happens ?

Hi Ian,
I frequently import Calc Spreadsheets into my MySQL database using
phpMyAdmin.. My version of phpMyAdmin asks to locate the File you wish to
import.Specifically, it offers a Browse option. Locate the Calc file you
wish to import.by browsing to it in your file system.
It also asks for the
